AI ACT - an overview through the main EU player With the valuable contribution of our Alliance, we were able to compile an in-depth document on the status of AI legislation, proposed laws and funding in the various European countries. The detailed input from the countries involved was instrumental in the drafting of an important article published by Il Sole 24ORE, which positions us as experts in the field of AI at the international level. On June 9, 2024, Ticino voters approved an amendment to the 1994 Tax Law, avoiding a 3% tax increase from 2023. Key changes include: 📌 1.667% income tax rate reduction starting in 2024 📌 Increased deductions for business expenses (CHF 3,000) 📌 Reduced top rate for inheritance and gift tax to 15.5% 📌 Pension plan benefits capped at 3% 📌 Maximum cantonal tax rate reduced to 12% This reform not only mitigates the tax rate hike but also encourages new taxpayers and stimulates economic growth. GA News | The #AIAct has been published on the Official Journal of the #EU   We are thrilled to share that the much-anticipated Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) has been finally published on the Official Journal of the EU. This landmark legislation sets a robust framework to ensure the development and deployment of AI technologies across Europe are safe, transparent, and aligned with fundamental rights and values. Key Provisions and Entry into Force:   📌 Risk-Based Approach: the AI Act classifies AI systems into categories based on the level of risk they pose, from minimal to high-risk, ensuring tailored regulatory requirements.    📌 Transparency Requirements: it mandates clear transparency obligations for AI systems, particularly those interacting with humans, to guarantee accountability and trust.   📌 Human Oversight: there are strict provisions for high-risk AI systems to ensure human oversight, mitigating the risk of automation bias and ensuring ethical usage.   📌 Entry into Force: the AI Act will officially enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal. However, specific provisions will be applied progressively over a set period to allow businesses and organizations to adapt and comply with the new regulations effectively, more specifically:  1. Bans on prohibited practises, which will apply six months after the entry into force date 2. Codes of practise, which will apply nine months after entry into force 3. General-purpose AI rules including governance, which will apply 12 months after entry into force  4.
