Discover how the ETF is navigating the future of lifelong learning in the Western Balkans and Türkiye through the insights of Lisa Rustico, ETF human capital development expert. Rustico emphasises the need for a systemic approach to continuing vocational education and training (CVET), starting with raising people's and companies' awareness of skills needs and the benefits of training. “A systemic approach also includes lifelong guidance, and personalised tools to support skills development. The EU is exploring the potential of individual learning accounts, and micro-credentials that complement the many tools we already have in place, including work-based learning, which may be associated with great benefits for young people and adults," she says. Find out more about the challenges and opportunities in further education, access to training and the importance of apprenticeships. 👐 Last week, we co-organised a 2-day event with Enabel and Actiris, focusing on the Effectiveness of Active Labour Market Policies (ALMPs) in fragile socio-economic and post-conflict contexts. We had the chance to join 60 participants from over 20 countries, including representatives from Ministries, Public Employment Services, and international organisations from EU neighbouring countries. ❣️ Thank you to everyone for this opportunity to get inspired, share insights, discuss key success factors of effective ALMPs in vulnerable environments, and explore how to translate all of this into actionable policies.

📢 Last week, Enabel, European Training Foundation, and Actiris organised a 2-day event on the Effectiveness of Active Labour Market Policies (ALMPs) in fragile socio-economic and post-conflict contexts. We welcomed around 60 participants from over 20 countries (mainly from the EU and neighbouring countries, including Ukraine and Palestine), representing Ministries, Public Employment Services, and other international organisations. 🎯 The conference was an excellent opportunity for peer learning and exchange among experts on this crucial topic. We inspired and were inspired by each other, reflecting on the success factors for effective ALMPs in fragile settings, monitoring their impact, and translating this into concrete policy recommendations. 🚀 We look forward to continuing these vital conversations and turning insights into action to create more resilient labour markets worldwide.   #EnablingChange #Partnerships #Employment Jan De Ceuster Shari Ghyselen Martina Winkler Bart Horemans Manuela Prina Eva Jansova Donatella Di Vozzo Laura Lemetayer Jean Van Wetter

“There is no longer any such thing as a job for life. People need to negotiate various transitions throughout their working lives, which calls for regular re-/upskilling and perhaps even changing professions. To do that successfully, they need professional support. #CareerGuidance is the key enabler for #lifelong learning systems", says European Training Foundation's Human Capital Development Expert, Florian Kadletz. Florian began his career in international development cooperation, supporting the integration of young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs) into rapid child education programs and VET. He spent three years in Brussels, supporting programmes and projects of the European Commission, such as the EU programming for the MENA region in cooperation with civil society organisations during the Arab Spring. He also worked at a university in Austria supporting the implementation of the Bologna Process: “I focused on supporting the shift towards competency-based curricula and learner-centric teaching approaches,” he says. But he wanted to return to working in the international sector, and a positive response from the ETF came at just the right time. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/g2Jz-iD9
