This is how Honeywell reduced its H2 production costs in Germany by more than 85% – using H2 Core Systems GmbH’s #AEM Electrolyser solution⬇️ Honeywell is a globally active Fortune 500 company operating in various business sectors, including comprehensive expertise in all areas of gas supply and use. The multi-national company has committed to make all their facilities and operations carbon neutral by 2035 and have already integrated numerous sustainable technologies into their portfolio. At their Osnabrück site in Germany, Honeywell manufactures advanced products for gas protection, measurement and control – and green hydrogen plays an important role. Earlier this year, our partner H2 Core Systems GmbH successfully delivered and commissioned four of their Outdoor Hydrocabs® for Honeywell. Powered by an impressive 44 kWp photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the laboratory building, 18 of Enapter’s AEM Electrolysers inside the Hydrocabs produce on-site green hydrogen. The hydrogen is stored in a 13m³ pressure tank for safe and efficient use in their research facilities, powering burners with up to 1 MW of firing capacity. H2 Core’s turnkey system allows Honeywell to manage the entire green hydrogen process—from generation to distribution, measurement, control and use. Beyond innovation, the investment brings tangible savings, reducing H2 production costs from €150/kg to an impressive €22/kg. "What matters is the younger generation. Because if you don't have electricity, it's difficult to learn" What a great success story👇 In most countries, the new school year has already begun. Education is key –  for individuals, societies, and economies. But getting a good education isn’t a given everywhere. Take the Malaysian mountainside village of Kampung Orang Asli Batu 23, near the town of Tapah, roughly three hours from Kuala Lumpur. Its 100 inhabitants were completely off-grid until 2019, relying solely on candles and kerosene for lighting. As the village grew, so did its energy, cooking, and connectivity needs. Without electricity, the children struggled to receive a proper education. Enter our partner PESTECH ENERGY SDN. BHD., a Malaysian integrated electrical power technology company. Our local partner installed a solar hydrogen microgrid, bringing light and communications to the village – a first for Southeast Asia, if not the world. During daylight hours, solar power directly feeds the grid. Excess energy charges the system’s supercapacitors, with the remainder converted to hydrogen using Enapter’s #AEM Electrolyser technology. Night-time demand is first supplied by the supercapacitors. A fuel cell converts hydrogen to cover the remaining demand. This system offers lossless, long-term energy storage. It provides the community with 100% clean energy, 24 hours a day. The project's success is leading to its expansion to serve new households and meet growing energy needs. It has also paved the way for a further rural electrification pilots – and potentially large-scale implementation of such microgrids across Malaysia. Why is Italy one of Europe’s fastest-growing H2 markets?👇Here are three explanations based on our experience at the HYDROGEN EXPO in Piacenza: As a company with strong Italian roots and electrolyser serial production near Pisa, we enjoyed a highly successful fair in Italy, connecting with new and familiar faces alike. Here’s what we took away: 𝟭. 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆’𝘀 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 The Italian government is rapidly advancing hydrogen use across numerous applications, driven by its national PNRR funding program. This momentum was evident in the bustling crowd throughout the event, with our Enapter booth among the busiest. In particular, our colleague Ruben Furi’s presentations on #AEM  electrolysis and H2 safety drew great interest. 𝟮. 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗘𝗠 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝘀 While we empower pilot projects with our compact 2.4 kW electrolyser and flexible 70-120 kW system, the main focus was on our larger multi-core systems. Enapter has already secured binding contracts totaling 11.5 MW of AEM Nexus capacity across some of the 52 Hydrogen Valley projects being established in Italy, and there’s more to come. 𝟯. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝟮 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 Potential customers came to us with specific project requirements at the expo, appreciating Enapter’s proven track record in delivering real-world hydrogen solutions. As our colleague Simone Perini put it: “Italy may not be the most innovative hydrogen market, but it is very concrete and real.” That’s exactly what’s needed to drive forward the energy transition with green hydrogen. How do EVs, fuel cells, PV, gas turbines and electrolysers fit together?⬇️ This research facility aims to demonstrate exactly this: A couple of weeks ago, the Ulm University of Applied Sciences (#THU) officially opened their Energiepark research facilities. Using renewable energies flexibly to ensure sustainable power generation regardless of the weather and grid utilisation – that’s the aim of this practical research project in the south of Germany. Their energy park consists of several components to demonstrate the interaction of different methods for the generation, storage and distribution of renewable energies: 1. A rooftop PV array supplies the park’s 24 charging points for EVs with solar power. 2. Surplus electricity can be stored for short periods using 388 kWh of battery capacity to provide emergency power or to compensate for voltage fluctuations. 3. For longer-term storage, our integration partner ostermeier H2ydrogen Solutions GmbH installed eight of Enapter's #AEM Electrolysers to convert electricity and water into green hydrogen. The H2 can be converted back into electricity via fuel cells. 4. Alternatively, the Energiepark has Germany’s first gas turbine running on 100 % green hydrogen in regular operation. Thanks to sector coupling, it has an electrical output of 100kW and a thermal output of 200kW. The THU’s Smart Grid Lab provides a multi-level test environment for both applied research and industrial partners. Its main focus is on the control of decentralised generators and loads, in particular taking into account various interests from the perspective of energy trading, grid operation and system operation. THU is also planning the installation of a seasonal hydrogen storage system for the future.
