Elettra Keeps on Promoting a Scientific and Technological Dialogue Worldwide 🌎 🟠 Plenipotentiary Minister Uberto Vanni d'Archirafi, Special Envoy for the Caribbean countries within the #MAECI(Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale), visited Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste on Thursday, 25 July 2024. 🟠 The visit involved two beamlines: #XRD1 and SYRMEP and the #FERMIFreeElectronLaser 🟠 Hot topics were the potential of these research infrastructures in the sectors of #life #sciences and #materials #science, and their possible role in the technological and scientific development of #Caribbean countries. 🟠Plenipotentiary Minister Vanni d'Archirafi continued his tour by visiting other institutes of excellence, including the (Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP)) and the Università degli Studi di Trieste. 🔶 On July 15th, we hosted Manuel Perez Cardenas, Representative of Mexico's Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), and Bernd Rohde, CEO of the Italo-German Exhibition Company, at Elettra and FERMI. They were accompanied by Graziano Bertogli, Honorary Consul of Mexico in Trieste. 🔶 With Mexico's new presidency under Claudia Sheinbaum—an #engineer, #physicist, and #researcher—the visit focused on exploring the economic and industrial impact of constructing a synchrotron. This large research infrastructure fosters innovation and technology transfer during and after its construction. 🔶 The CCE unites 14 major business organizations, representing 80% of Mexico's GDP. The Italo-German Exhibition Company, a joint venture between Italian Exhibition Group Spa and Deutsche Messe AG, excels in organizing international trade fairs across various sectors. 🔶 Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is excited to participate in the First Global Business Summit Mexico, "#CONSTRUYENDOELMÉXICODELFUTURO: Hacia una Prosperidad Tecnológica e Inclusiva." This event will be part of the Industrial Transformation Mexico Forum from #October 9-11, 2024, in #Leon, Guanajuato.

🍥 Light Vortexes Boost Resolution in Ptychographic Imaging! 🔸A research team at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste has achieved a 30% improvement in image resolution by integrating Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) beams into ptychographic imaging.
