The Italian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster SPRING – Sustainable Processes and Resources for Innovation and National Growth - has the objective of triggering the development of biobased industries in Italy, through an holistic approach to innovation, aimed at revitalising Italian industries in the name of environmental, social and economic sustainability. The purpose is to stimulate research and investments in new technologies, in constant dialogue with local stakeholders, and to pursue the European Commission most recent policies on bioeconomy.

[#ifib] La bioeconomia circolare è strategica per uno sviluppo economico e sostenibile ma ha bisogno di urgenti interventi di policy per poter esprimere tutto il suo potenziale e restituire valore al Paese. È questo il messaggio e l’appello lanciato a Bologna nella cornice del Forum Internazionale sulle Biotecnologie Industriali e la Bioeconomia (Ifib), uno dei più importanti eventi internazionali dedicati alla bioeconomia circolare che si è tenuto quest’anno, per la XIV edizione, nella sede di Fondazione Golinelli. “Le biotecnologie industriali e le biosoluzioni sono un volano di innovazione per la bioeconomia circolare e rappresentano uno strumento concreto che oggi abbiamo a disposizione per dare una risposta sostenibile dal punto di vista ambientale, sociale ed economico, al fabbisogno di cibo, materiali ed energia a base biologica, preservando e ripristinando le risorse naturali attraverso una gestione sostenibile dell’acqua, del suolo, e della biodiversità. Una ricerca del McKinsey Global Institute ha stimato che fino al 60% degli input per l’economia globale potrebbe essere prodotto attraverso le biotecnologie e si calcola che, grazie alle biosoluzioni, le emissioni di CO2 possono essere ridotte dell’8%. È del tutto evidente, quindi, che l’innovazione biotecnologica rappresenta una chiave fondamentale per un cambio di paradigma che affianchi crescita economica e sviluppo sostenibile. Eppure, l’Europa e l’Italia hanno ancora un sistema normativo penalizzante. Vogliamo ribadire, con forza, l’urgenza di interventi concreti, anche a livello comunitario, per le nostre imprese bio-based”. Questo il messaggio della nostra Vicepresidente Elena Sgaravatti.
