🌍 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 🌱 Exciting news for the safety of food supplements in Europe! European food safety authorities have agreed to harmonize regulations to make food supplements even safer. A joint working group identified 117 critical substances that pose health risks. Currently, standardized regulations exist only for substances in Annex III of Regulation (EC) No. 1925/2006 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2470. An additional 13 ingredients, including curcumin, piperine, melatonin, and tryptophan, will be prioritized for risk assessment. 🌿 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 Paracelsus' principle that "only the dose makes the poison" is confirmed by a recent study by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). The study investigated the effects of hormonally active substances, such as certain pesticides, on the endocrine system.
