We are proud to announce that during the OICE 2024 awards ceremony held in the splendid setting of #VillaPiccolomini in Rome, our Managing Director Paolo Cambula, together with our Head of Design Alessandro Ferreri and our Head of Works Maurizio Staltari, in representation of all the ADR Ingegneria team, received the prestigious #OICE2024 award for engineering and architecture in the category “Concrete Projects”, for the significant adaptation and renovation works in the Terminal 3 at Fiumicino airport, developed in compliance with the architectural characteristics of the 1960s building and the nearby passengers users.  The event, which saw the participation of over 300 guests representing central and local Authorities, engineering and architecture companies, journalists, and members of the academic world, was a special occasion to celebrate this important recognition. ADR Ingegneria, part of Aeroporti di Roma, continues to stand out for the #quality and #innovation of its projects, developed in a very dynamic and complex context with a strong connection to airport operations. Spotlight on Airport Innovation: Exploring Off-Site Construction at Rome Fiumicino. Recently at Villa di Delizia Business Space with Paolo Cambula, managing director of #ADRIngegneria, part of Aeroporti di Roma, we delved into various off-site construction methods reshaping airport development.   His discussion provided a thorough examination of the strategic overhaul of Rome Fiumicino Airport, with a keen emphasis on efficiency and design. The session highlighted the remarkable transformation of FCO Terminal 1, showcasing enhancements in both structural integrity and airport development. Through the adoption of off-site construction techniques, ADR Ingegneria achieved notable time savings and mitigated ecological impact, both critical considerations for airport operations. During the MAM - Mediterranean Aerospace Matching event held in Grottaglie last friday, our Managing Director, Paolo Cambula, and Benedetto Camerana of Benedetto Camerana Studio, on behalf of the Design Team also including PROGER s.p.a. and RINA, unveiled the Technical and Economic Feasibility Design for the Italian #Spaceport - the only one of its kind in Mediterranean Europe. The designed infrastructures were integrated into the revised Masterplan, completed in December 2023, including a spacious hangar (8000 sqm) to house aircrafts such as Boeing 747-8, and a multifunctional building (5000 sqm) hosting the training center, startup incubator, research labs, a museum path, and a visitor area. The project for the #Spaceport offers an emotional progression for both orbital tourists and visitors, from the entrance to experiential spaces, to the mezzanine in the hangar overlooking the spacecraft. The project thoughtfully incorporates the new elements into the local landscape, selecting colors and materials that harmonize with the existing environment, such as metallic copper for expansive roofing and matte facades. Aimed at #sustainability, the infrastructure seeks #LEED Gold and Silver certifications, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. The initiative solidifies Grottaglie's position as a leading aerospace hub in Continental Europe.
