🇺🇸 Icelandic Culture Takes Center Stage in NYC at Taste of Iceland 🇮🇸 We just wrapped up an unforgettable Taste of Iceland festival in New York City, celebrating the very best of Icelandic culture. New Yorkers got a sample platter of Iceland's creative spirit, from Icelandic cuisine and music to design and comedy. Featured talents included award-winning authors Ragnar Jónasson and Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, comedian Ari Eldjárn, musicians Klemens Hannigan and Superserious, and national team chefs Snædís Xyza Mae Ocampo and Ólöf Ólafsdóttir. North Iceland’s Snowy Charm Captivates British Travelers On September 5, Business Iceland, alongside Visit North Iceland Marketing, hosted a presentation in Manchester to promote easyJet’s upcoming direct flights to Akureyri from Manchester and London (Gatwick). Over 30 local travel agents attended the event, held at Chill Factore—England’s largest indoor ski slope—where they learned about the unique appeal of North Iceland for winter travelers. Afterward, attendees enjoyed an afternoon of snow tubing and sledding, creating a memorable experience to keep snow—and Iceland—at the top of their minds as a winter destination. The Embassy of Iceland in Copenhagen and Business Iceland hosted the annual networking reception at the Ambassador’s residence in celebration of TechBBQ! Special guest of honor this year was Thomas Marschall, CEO of Danish Business Angels - DanBAN, who was followed on stage by 8 startup pitches and a surprise musical performance by the talented Margrét Júlana Sigurðardóttir.

Iceland has a strong presence this year here in Copenhagen at TechBBQ with a delegation around 100 Icelanders, a mix of startups, investors and startup ecosystem players. The day was filled with inspiring talks and new connections!

Business Iceland proudly co-hosted the “Our Climate Future: Colorado-Iceland Clean Energy Summit” on June 20 with the Embassy of Iceland in Washington D.C., the State of Colorado, and Denver Economic Development & Opportunity   Iceland, a leader in geothermal and carbon management technologies, joined Colorado’s energy pioneers to explore advancements and collaboration in clean energy.   Notable speakers included Governor Jared Polis, Colorado Energy Office Executive Director Will Toor, and Iceland’s Ambassador Bergdís Ellertsdóttir, emphasizing the importance of geothermal energy and carbon sequestration technologies like CCUS and DAC.   The summit showcased the strong Iceland-Colorado connection, setting a global example for using clean energy and innovative technologies to combat climate change and enhance energy security.
