The Korrum are an advanced biosynthetic species which engineers each of its composite members for a specific role- think along the lines of the Zerg. After the Korric Emergence event and the ensuing war, the Korrum negotiated with their neighboring human states, eager to form peace. The local human nations of New-Earth were unwilling to break a ban on "true AI" for the sake of an until-very-recently hostile nation; as a compromise, the Korrum adopted the "Vox Anima Intelligence" or "VAI" model (which requires any intelligent automated system to be both primarily organic and capable of socializing roughly as a human would) and began breeding new strains of Lesser Beast to place in superficial "control" of their other forms.

"Fleetminds" are one of the major examples of this practice. While they look similar in design to Shipminds, and have their own ship they're wired into, Fleetminds are bred for tactical thinking. With a vast knowledge of different maneuvers, counter-attacks, and strategies recorded from countless battles, you'll be hard pressed to find a way to beat them in space combat.
The Fleetmind is one step above any and all Shipminds, and Daughter-drones, having an upgraded wireless mindlink to all of their subordinates, they are able to effectively coordinate all available ships into what they deem to be the perfect strategy
This Fleetmind is named Velloria. She has fought many battles, mainly against the Zorlax Syndicate, who are known enemies with the Korrum. She has been seen with her fleet personally working alongside the Shadowhawk Republic, occasionally helping them with battles.

"Shipminds" are another one of the major examples of this practice. Typically wired into the "bridge" of a Korric ship, Shipminds are bred as pilots and navigators, with additional skills pertaining to their specific domain of duty.
Shipminds are also the direct superiors of any and all of their Daughter-drones, having a semi-entangled private mind-link to all of their subordinates. This link is mostly reserved for the Shipmind's ability to teleoperate and "puppet" their drones.

"Daughter-drones" are among the most low-ranking of these strains, and serve as parasite-crews aboard Korric "ships" or facilities. While different skillsets are available, most are programmed with combat instincts first and foremost. They are highly tolerant of pain and nearly fearless. They wear a semi-bonded living spacesuit and magnetized boots.
Daughter-drones are absolutely fanatical in their loyalty to their Shipmind, with a given Korric ship's drones all being mind-linked together with a semi-entangled private network. This network is primarily reserved for the Shipmind's "puppet" capabilities, which allow it to temporarily teleoperate any given linked Daughter-drone (which is signaled by a color change in the drone's eyes).
