While many corporations have focused largely on increasing the representation of women in the C-suite and the boardroom, much less attention has been given to increasing gender equity at lower levels of management and addressing the leaky pipeline of female leaders. By not retaining, developing, and promoting more women from frontline positions, companies experience high turnover costs and leave some of their best talent untapped. https://lnkd.in/eVE8x6G5 #genderequity #genderdiversity #womensempowerment #womenleaders

One way to ensure the relevance and usefulness of an evaluation is to develop a set of evaluation questions that reflect the perspectives, experiences and insights of as many relevant individuals, groups, organizations, and communities as possible. As potential users of the evaluation findings, their input is essential to establishing the focus and direction of the evaluation. Soliciting input from stakeholders early in the evaluation design process allows for more relevant, credible, and useful measurement of impact. Follow these 5 steps to engage stakeholders effectively: https://lnkd.in/g_vYZYUG #socialimpact #socialchange #evaluation

How can recruiters develop compelling pitches to hire more women candidates for entry-level roles? Most pitches often overlook key information that might be useful for women candidates (e.g., availability of pick-and-drop transport facilities, well-lit toilet facilities, shifts ending by 6 PM, no heavy lifting). As a result, the pitch fails to build trust and leads to a low candidate conversion rate. To address this, GLOW has developed a checklist to help recruiters develop compelling pitches to convert more women candidates. This checklist can help recruiters to… • Screen candidates with more effective questions (e.g. checking if the candidate is comfortable with a contract role or with having days off other than weekends) • Develop a standardized pitch covering all key messages that might be relevant for women candidates (e.g., if required to travel for the role, job timings) The checklist has been developed based on our work with 10 flexi-staffing companies and interviews with 6,600 women about their employment preferences. Since 2020, Growing Livelihood Opportunities for Women (GLOW) has been working with ~20 companies, to sustainably place women in blue/ grey collar roles by shifting companies' practices. To access the training recording, which highlights key steps and best practices for effectively pitching to women candidates through mock scenarios, visit https://lnkd.in/djix3zHd #genderequity #gendergap #genderdiversity #womenatwork #womenempowerment #FSGGLOW

Actor mapping explores the relationships and connections among actors, as well as their relationships to a given issue, project, or intended outcome. The purpose of actor mapping is to identify opportunities to improve a system’s overall performance by, for example, strengthening weak connections or filling gaps in the system. It is related to, but fundamentally distinct from, traditional stakeholder analysis. https://lnkd.in/gbpCUHsY #systemschange #systemsthinking #socialchange #socialimpact
