What do you do if ERP software isn't increasing productivity in your workplace?
The analogy of "round peg in a square whole" fits in perfectly here. Another brutal trust that when it comes to mapping, the human egos impact more than opting the best practices. How experience helping 6000 businesses use ERPNext. In most cases, the vanilla ERP implementation works best. It's agile, cost less time and effort and helps business see value much faster. It fits, as ERPs are anyways designed as per the best practices. There are scenarios where software needs to be tweaked as per the process, like in case of chemical processing etc. If find yourself in such place, ensure to PRIORITIZE correctly. Is it a day-1 requirement, so that it doesn't become show-stopper. If development is required, agile methodology works best.

What do you do if ERP software isn't increasing productivity in your workplace?
To ensure the healthy state of data, there should be enough controls and workflows defined in the product as well. If user is trained on the product master, but there is no control to prevent duplicate product entry, the training itself for the users will be useless. Assuming controls are taken care, user should be imparted with knowledge on two levels. Conceptual and training on making entries in an ERP. For instance, a user must understand how each stock valuation method works, and which one should be selected based on the nature of item. Once comprehensive training is conducted, user must be equipped with hands-on testing system to create entries and make their hands dirty. Finally, have regress evaluation and sign-of mechanism.

The unfortunate truth of ERPs are, it becomes a glorified data dump. If there are not enough thought given on what is the outcome expected from an ERP in terms of MIS, productivity and data, it eventually turn-out to be digitalisation of data, which doesn't give you insights and power to make data driven decisions. Hence, it's imperative to set management and users goals from the system before you initiate the implementation.

You're facing team conflict over lead allocation. How do you ensure fair distribution in the pipeline?
Sales needs a conquering and won't-accept-no-for-an answer mindset. While you need to be a hustler, winning a sale has fair amount of arts and science. You need to know the prospect, their territory, regional dominance and lots of other factors to put across your pitch. First, I will recommend structuring sales team on the territory basis. This will help each AE or SDR to learn the regional dynamics well, and take informed approach to nurturing a lead. This structuring will naturally give me methodology for the lead distribution as well, based on territory.
