Hello Folks,😊 Yesterday I had a great conversation with an entrepreneur who just started his journey in entrepreneurship a year back. So I want to share some insights about it, as a financial enthusiastic person I asked him out of curiosity how they grew profit by 7% in just one year. He told me, You know, last year we pulled in ₹20 crore in revenue with a solid 30% profit margin. Not bad, but I saw room for improvement. We decided to focus on optimizing our cost structure without compromising growth. And guess what? By the end of the year, we pushed our profit margin up to 37.3%. That’s ₹1.46 crore in additional profit! Curious 🧐, I asked them how they did it if he could brief it out. He simply breaks down every single cost with approximate numbers. One of the first things they did was renegotiate their contracts with suppliers. By committing to longer-term deals, they saved ₹40 lakh on raw materials. Implementing energy-efficient practices saved ₹15 lakh a year. Plus, it aligned with their sustainability goals And embracing lean management principles to streamline production and logistics. That alone added ₹30 lakh to their bottom line. Finally, they introduced zero-based budgeting in departments like marketing, requiring every expense to be justified. It sounds strict, but it saved ₹10 lakh in unnecessary spending. The Result reduced overall costs from ₹14 crore to ₹12.54 crore, Improved profitability where profit margin jumped from 30% to 37.3%, and profit increased from ₹6 crore to ₹7.46 crore, adding ₹1.46 crore in just one year. He told me, It’s about consistently making small, smart moves. We didn’t just cut costs; we optimized them. The result was sustainable growth and a healthier bottom line. It’s these kinds of strategies that keep the business not only profitable but also agile. And I totally agreed with him.
