*Understanding #India's #Schooling System* India's #educationsystem operates under the Concurrent list, meaning both the #CentralGovernment and #stategovernments share responsibility for formulating and implementing #education policies. The prevalent structure across most boards in #India follows the "10 2" pattern, where the first 10 years comprise #elementary and #secondaryeducation, and the subsequent 2 years focus on #highersecondaryeducation, often delivered through #juniorcolleges or #highersecondaryschools. The "10 2" system, which was recommended by the #EducationCommission of 1964-66, is structured into 8 years of #elementaryeducation (5 years of #primaryschool and 3 years of #middleschool), followed by 2 years of #secondaryeducation and another 2 years of #highersecondary education. Post-secondary education typically involves 3 years of study for a #bachelor’s degree. #Indian #educational institutions are categorized into two types: 1. Recognized Institutions – These include #primaryschools, #secondaryschools, #specialschools, #intermediateschools, #colleges, and #universities. They adhere to #courses prescribed by #universities or #boards and are subject to inspections by these #authorities. 2. Unrecognized Institutions – These are #institutions that do not meet the standards set for recognized institutions and often operate without official recognition. This system is pivotal in shaping the educational framework and accessibility across the country.
