Look at the game of contrasts we face in India: i) we are one of the fastest growing economies of the world with aspirations of multifold economic growth ii) we have a favourable demographic dividend of having the worlds youngest workforce iii) half of our working population is women but their participation in the workforce is one of the lowest in the world- in sectors like manufacturing it is abysmally low iv) 3/4ths of working women do not return to work after a career break- reports say those who do not return, take alternate careers after their breaks  v) we have the largest number of students passing out of our colleges but half of them are not employable Putting all of it together, how can corporate India offer sustainable growth options for organizations and also for the country? The story across the world is not too different either. Women not returning has 2 facets: a) They are not able to return- skill redundancy, family constraints, self limitations, not able to find appropriate connections etc. can be probable causes, and  b) Their return is prohibited by recruiters bias, non- supporting work policies, social stigma etc. #TheGrowthConferenceIndia On 23 & 24 August 2024 explored various factors that can facilitate women’s return to work after career breaks.
