A major stride forward in India's fast commerce trend, NEWME, a Gen Z-focused fashion business created by Sumit Jasoria, Vinod Naik, Shivan Tripathy, and Himanshu Chaudhary, has introduced a ninety-minute delivery service in a few districts of Delhi-NCR. Gurgaon, DLF Cyber Hub, Dwarka, Palam Vihar, and Najafgarh are currently included in the trial program; in the upcoming two weeks, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad are scheduled to be added. This program is in line with NEWME's vision to serve Gen Z consumers in India and Southeast Asia by addressing delayed deliveries in a timely manner. This jump is likely to generate 7.5-10 million new jobs. A large chunk of this targeted increase, or around $16 billion may come from the China Plus One sentiment due to India’s relatively large strategic depth compared with Vietnam or Bangladesh, the report said. The “China Plus One” policy is a business strategy adopted by companies that have significant manufacturing operations in China. The strategy involves diversifying their manufacturing and supply chain operations by establishing additional facilities in other countries.
