Strength of Community! On 1st Oct 2024, Telangana once again witnessed the power of community building where women entrepreneurs, ecosystem partners, enablers, media & government bodies came together to embark on a new chapter for the state & country, the launch of NITI Aayog’s collaboration with Government of Telangana - WEP Telangana Chapter. At the launch held at Hyatt Hyderabad Gachibowli, Sri BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO NITI Aayog & Co-Chair WEP & Sri Jayesh Ranjan IAS, Special Chief Secretary IT, I&C, Govt. of Telangana shed light on how NITI Aayog had chosen Telangana as Women Entrepreneurship Platform's first state chapter owing to Telangana's leadership in building an ecosystem for women entrepreneurs through WE Hub, A Government of Telangana Initiative, India's first state-led nodal organisation for women entrepreneurs, the Innovation Ecosystem in the state, entrepreneurship cells in academic institutions, SERP-TG & MEPMA-TG - together serving incubation & skilling programmes across rural & urban landscapes. They stressed on the added value these state & central initiatives would bring to women entrepreneurs. Dr. Sangita Reddy JMD, Apollo Hospitals & Co-Chair WEP, spoke about the pertinence of mentorship & networking & Ms. Anna Roy, IES, Principal Economic Advisor NITI Aayog & Mission Director WEP, spoke about how WEP would be strengthened through the new partnership with WE Hub, SERP-TG & MEPMA-TG. Ms. Sita Pallacholla, CEO WE Hub, who was announced as the Mission Director for Telangana WEP, thanked the above dignitaries, Ms. Divya Devarajan IAS CEO, SERP-TG & Sri VP Gautham IAS Mission Director, MEPMA-TG for joining hands for a strong ecosystem for women entrepreneurship. She especially appreciated the women entrepreneurs who constantly inspire us with their resilience and determination. She also thanked the volunteers from St. Francis College for Women, MRECW & MLRIT for their active & valued participation, Team Hyatt for a seamless event & Team WE Hub for the planning & execution. Selected entrepreneurs from WE Hub, SERP-TG & MEPMA-TG also exhibited their products and got very encouraging responses to their brands. Addressing the audience at the WEP Telangana State chapter, Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary for IT and I&C Departments, Government of Telangana, remarked, “Due to Telangana’s great track record of support for entrepreneurship in SHGs, the State Innovation Ecosystem, and incubators at academic institutions, NITI Aayog chose Telangana as the first State Chapter of WEP. At the launch of the WEP Telangana State chapter, Ms. Anna Roy, Mission Director of WEP and Principal Economic Advisor at NITI Aayog, shared insights on the vision behind the initiative. “As WEP continues evolving, we are expanding into tier 2 and tier 3 cities through the WEP in States initiative, partnering with states to build an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
