Vasudha Foundation is thrilled to share that the Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan released Kerala’s GHG Inventory for the period of 2005-2021 and the Kerala GHG Dashboard developed by Vasudha Foundation, today on the occasion of the World Environment day. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. V Venu, Chief Secretary, Government of Kerala, Dr. Rathan Kelkar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Environment, Government of Kerala, Shri. Suneel Pamidi, Director, DoECC and his entire team for entrusting us with this responsibility of developing the GHG inventory and the GHG dashboard for Kerala as well as for engaging with us at every step. Kerala’s GHG inventory covers 31 categories cutting across all sectors and accounts for all the major GHGs emitted in Kerala. The inventory was developed using robust methodology and a thorough consultation process with all line departments, sectoral experts and stakeholders. 📈 India’s Peak Electricity Demand Hit a New Record   🏆India recorded an all-time high peak electricity demand of 250 GW on 30th May 2024, with an increase of 3% compared to last year peak of 243 GW in September month. 🔌The peak electricity demand in May 2024 increased by 13% compared to the same month last year. 💡This unprecedented surge is largely due to the extreme temperatures and heat waves sweeping across the nation, driving a significant increase in space cooling demand.
