Srushti Conservation Foundation (SCF)

The Srushti Conservation Foundation (SCF) is a Section 8 Not for profit start-up established in January 2021. Highly qualified team of SCF carries with it over four decades of experience in the space on ecosystem, biodiversity and sustainability across landscapes and seascapes of India. SCF primarily aims to promote and undertake research-based biodiversity and ecosystem conservation and restoration of habitats, ecosystem-based adaptation, climate change mitigation and education, Agro-biodiversity and provide sound scientific knowledge for environmentally sustainable economic development. As India marches ahead in its quest for development and nation building, conservation of the natural environment remains a major challenge as well as an opportunity. In the true spirit of sustainable development, SCF is committed to continue its conservation mission with a professional approach and strong research background, while closely working with various stakeholders including government, research institutes, academia, corporates, civil society groups and the public. SCF clearly perceives crucial issues affecting nature such as biodiversity loss, deforestation, degradation of habitats, coastal erosion and species extinction, and the increasing disconnect of the rising urban population with nature. In this context, SCF endeavours to work in line with its mission, which is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set up by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and other relevant international conventions and agreements. The SCF focuses on fundamental assumptions namely ecological, social, economic, policy level and technological innovations. The SCF primarily focuses on participatory conservation of marinescapes, landscapes, climate change, threatened and endangered species.
