Why Your Hiring Partner Can't Understand the Hiring Needs of Startups Establishing GCCs in India. The problem arises because most traditional outsourcing hiring partners have experience hiring for GCCs that were focused on building "Team India" for cost-cutting, rather than the newer approach centred around innovation. This is evident in the current hiring trends for GCCs. According to a report by The Economic Times, "hiring from service-based IT companies by GCCs fell to 18% in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, from 32% the previous year. On the other hand, 16% (up from 13% the previous year) of new employees were hired from IT product companies and startups." So, traditional hiring partners need to stop sending you large volumes of talent from service-based startups and instead focus on product-based talent. SIMPLE, right? But it’s not. It’s not just about talent mapping or discovery; it’s about understanding the intricate details that make talent stand out. It involves evaluating their technical skills, soft skills, cultural fit, capability, and experience in relation to the specific requirements. Traditional hiring partners often lack the expertise to work on roles with specific, evolving requirements and have little understanding of the industry and talent landscape at the ground level. In short, they lack a strong connection to the startup and product-based ecosystem. Moreover, they need the ability to conduct market research, gather market intelligence, and stay updated with the dynamic landscape that is constantly changing. In short, when searching for the right hiring partner, don’t just ask if they have experience establishing GCCs in India. Ask them how much they know about the talent you need—product-based and innovative startup talent. Simply put, ask whether they have the expertise to find the right fit. #gcc

The Do's and Don'ts of the Job Hunting Process Hey everyone! 👋 I know, I know—there are a million articles out there about job hunting, but consider this just another friendly reminder. Whether you’re a fresher or a seasoned professional, we’ve noticed some recurring mistakes that candidates keep making. So, here’s a quick rundown of what to do and what to avoid: ✅ Do: Research the Organization Before your interview, dig into the company. Know its balance sheet, employee count, and products. Visit their website, check out their LinkedIn, and gather as much info as you can. Being well-prepared shows that you’re serious. ✅ Do: Quantify Your Experience When talking about your experience, focus on the numbers and the impact you’ve made. Share achievements in terms of value delivered—specifics matter! ❌ Don’t: Job Hop Too Often Stability is crucial. If you’ve been hopping from one job to another frequently, it can be a red flag for employers. They might see you as a risk. Plus, staying put for a while allows you to really contribute and grow in your role. ✅ Do: Be Punctual and Communicative Show up on time for your interviews. If something comes up, inform the interviewer in advance. These small details leave a big impression. ✅ Do: Prepare for Basic Questions Have clear, specific answers ready for common questions like “Why do you want to leave/join?” or “What are you good at?” Avoid generic responses like “I’m committed” or “I want to grow.” Trust me. ✅ Do: Perfect Your Elevator Pitch Know how to showcase your work quickly and effectively. Don’t make the interviewer dig to find out that you’ve done great work—highlight the impact you’ve made from the start. ✅ Do: Read the Job Description Carefully Don’t just skim the title and headline. Read the job description word by word so you know exactly what the role entails. This way, you won’t make assumptions that could lead to disappointment later. Hope these tips help you in your job search! Let’s avoid those common pitfalls and nail that next opportunity. 🚀 Huge shoutout to Shilpa Venkatesh, Zeel Bhatt, Miloni Munshi, Pritika Shetty for the valuable insights! 🙌 #JobHunting #CareerTips #JobSearch #InterviewPrep #ProfessionalGrowth

"Why do you want to join us?" "Why should we hire you?" Let’s be real—these questions can feel pretty silly, right? That doesn’t mean you should throw out a silly answer. Sure, you might want to say, “MONEY, MONEY!!” or “Weren’t you hiring? Duh!” But let's pause for a second. These questions actually dig deeper than you might think. After chatting with a few HR folks, I found out they're really looking for a few key things: ✳ Your Impact: Do you know how you can make a difference in the company? ✳ Your Excitement: Are you genuinely pumped to join their team? ✳ Your Insight: Do you understand how the organisation ticks? So, when you’re crafting your answers, remember to highlight what really matters: ✳ Experience: Show them the value you bring from your past gigs. ✳ Achievements: Share those wins, and back them up with numbers. ✳ Enthusiasm: What’s got you excited about this role or company? ✳ Ambitions: How do your personal goals align with the company’s mission? Now that you’ve got the inside scoop, go ahead and ace that interview.

Optimise Your LinkedIn Profile to Stand Out in the Job Market Hey everyone! 👋 I know, I know—there's a ton of advice out there on how to make your LinkedIn profile shine. But trust me, this one's special. Why? Because it’s coming straight from our mapping team, who work day in and day out to match the right candidates to the right jobs. These folks have mapped for over 500 jobs this year alone, so they know a thing or two about what makes a profile stand out. So, here’s the lowdown: No Excuses for Rejection: You’d be surprised how many profiles get rejected for minor things—like having a profile pic where you’re chilling at a bar with drinks, or writing quirky stuff like “Getting high on code.” Creativity is cool, but keep it professional, folks. Let’s give those HR folks no excuse to pass on your profile! Work Experience Is a Must: Work experience is non-negotiable. It should clearly spell out your role, responsibilities, and achievements. Got experience leading a team? Shout about it. Worked at a startup and took something from 0 to 1? Even better. And if your role was impact-driven (like sales), back it up with numbers. 📈 Skills and Tools: Don’t forget to list your skills and tools. These are the keywords that recruiters use to find the right candidates—make sure you’re on their radar. Your Portfolio Matters: Engineers, link your GitHub. Designers, make sure your Behance, Dribble, or Figma profiles are front and centre. Your portfolio is your proof, so let it do the talking. Huge shoutout to Anusha Ghag & Mariam Tinwala for the valuable insights! 🙌
