The need for agile verification processes and resilience to future complexities is more urgent than ever. Quite a few such pointers were discussed in a recent roundtable discussion on “Unmasking Employee Fraud: AI, Smart Checks, and Staying Compliant,” in partnership with IDfy at Bengaluru. The session was moderated by Paritosh Desai from IDfy and Alexander Rinku - Director - Human Resources ( HR ), Oracle, who discussed the key challenge areas emerging in the background screening. The discussion highlighted the rise of fraudulent employment certificates and fake qualifications, with technology enabling candidates to manipulate their credentials, making detection difficult for organisations. To combat this, companies are increasingly using AI and advanced technologies like document OCR, video KYC, and deep fake detection to improve the accuracy of background checks. Ethical concerns were raised about the misuse of technology, prompting the need for stronger governance and accountability in verification processes. The session wrapped up with a look at cutting-edge tools available to help companies navigate their verification challenges while staying ahead of future threats.
