Major Event Alert! I'm pleased to announce that TechFini has been certified by National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) to operate as a UPI-based payment infrastructure provider for banks and financial institutions. In my previous post, I discussed the evolution of UPI in India. Witnessing this growth, I've often wondered why we don't own the tech stack ourselves. We're excellent at distribution, and we've built a team to distribute UPI QR codes to stores. Now, it's time to own the technology. This motivation led us to found TechFini, an all-inclusive, feature-rich payment infrastructure solution provider. We offer a suite of products, including UPI switches, card switches, and card management tools. We are now successfully certified by NPCI for UPI 2.0. Techfini will operate as a UPI Issuer 2.0, UPI Acquirer 2.0, Issuer of Credit Lines on UPI, Acquirer of Credit Lines on UPI, and enabler of RuPay Credit Card and Recurring Mandates on UPI. As a company, we remain committed to our vision of focusing on regional banks, SFBs, Payments Banks and cooperative banks, enabling them to use our UPI stack to launch their acquiring and issuing UPI services. IppoPay is witnessing the evolution of UPI in India first-hand.   Can you believe that one of our valued merchants’ (a vegetable vendor) in a Tier-2 city (photo attached) monthly UPI transaction volume is approx. INR 28,00,000 through IppoPay QR Code? He exclusively uses the IppoPay QR Code and is a big supporter of IppoPay. I met the owner, and he told me that his overall business is 40 lakhs per month, with 70% of this volume coming from UPI and the rest from cash and cards. Four years ago, 100% of his transactions were in cash. This showcases the UPI evolution in India. He also mentioned that managing his accounts has become seamless through the IppoPay store app.   The store owner is extremely happy that IppoPay supported him and helped him through his digital transformation.   UPI's main focus is to reduce the dependency on cash transactions in India. The NPCI has been very successful in penetrating UPI transactions. UPI-based transactions reached Rs 20 lakh crores in June, surging 49% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, according to data from the NPCI.   I believe it is time to focus on Tier-2, Tier-3, and rural areas to further penetrate UPI to the vast corners of this country. We will stay true to our mission of focusing on these areas. 76% of our merchants are from Tier-2 to rural areas, and 40% of our merchants are first-time UPI QR users, which means IppoPay is instrumental in introducing QR codes to these merchants.   Thank you so much to our banking partners. India's UPI has set another after processing more than 14 billion transactions worth Rs 20.45 lakh crore or Rs 20.45 trillion in May 2024, according to data issued by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). UPI saw a 5% rise in volume and a 4% surge in transaction value in May compared to April. The transaction count is expected to rise in the coming months as NPCI expands UPI services to more countries. Besides India, UPI is also available in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, France, Nepal, the UK, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka.
