Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh took a giant leap towards progress with the launch of #SampoornataAbhiyan, a 3-month campaign under the Aspirational Districts Programme and Aspirational Blocks Programme. Sampoornata Abhiyan was launched with great enthusiasm in Sultanganj block of Bhagalpur district, Bihar. Vibrant awareness rallies were organised, marking the beginning of this comprehensive development initiative. Awareness chariots were flagged off to spread the message across the block. The rallies saw diverse participation, with teachers, students, Jeevika didis, Sevikas, and Panchayat representatives joining hands to support the cause. As a symbol of growth and nurture, officials planted trees at the block office premises. Health camps were set up, offering free check-ups to locals, emphasizing the health-first approach of the campaign. The initiative places a special focus on maternal health. The importance of regular check-ups and a nutritious diet for pregnant women was emphasised. To provide comprehensive information, stalls were set up by various departments including Health, Agriculture, Jeevika, and ICDS. Sampoornata Abhiyan was successfully launched in Daman District, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The program featured awareness camps for pregnant women, pre-natal healthcare and nutrition for pregnant women and children. It also had health camps for hypertension and diabetes screening. Furthermore, soil health cards were distributed to farmers, promoting agricultural development. During the launch event, there were SHG exhibitions, and registration drives were held to enroll beneficiaries under various government schemes, ensuring that citizens receive the support they need. Sampoornata Abhiyan targets saturation of 12 key indicators in health, nutrition, agriculture, social development, and education sectors within 3 months.
