Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL) priced its First Dual Investment Grade USD bonds at $350 million in a Debt-Neutral Transaction. The fund raised through the issuance of Notes marks the Motherson Group's return to the US$ bond market after eight years and the first time it has received a dual investment grade rating from two reputed international credit rating agencies, Moody’s and Fitch. The issue garnered very strong interest from a diverse set of global marquee investors with a peak order book in excess of US$2.2 billion, demonstrating an oversubscription of 6 times the issue size. This reflects the confidence of the global investor community in the credit profile and strength of the underlying business of the Motherson Group. The issue resulted in diversification of the debt investor base, with over 96% allocations made to asset managers, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds and the balance to banks / private banks / other accounts. The transaction saw balanced participation from investors across regions—Asia 40%, EMEA 38%, and North America 22%. As part of our Sustainability Summit in London, we brought together our network of social sustainability champions, business leaders, and HR heads for a two-day virtual social sustainability summit.   The event included an update from our sustainability development team on stakeholder expectations within the social sustainability sphere, presentations from our legal experts on the evolving regulatory ESG landscape, and progress reviews from last year from the working groups. Virtual break-out rooms facilitated cross-divisional-regional discussions on key topics for Motherson, including our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and employee wellness and wellbeing. Furthermore, an interactive session on employee engagement was supported by an insightful presentation from our platform partner, Workvivo - by Zoom.   Under the leadership and guidance of our Chief Sustainability Officer, Barrie Painter, the social sustainability summit charted the way forward and our people-focused social sustainability ambitions to work towards. We actively collaborated with the Whitelands Project, spending a day clearing weeds and brambles around newly planted saplings to ensure they receive ample sunlight and thrive.
