In a proud moment for India, the country is hosting the first Regional Dairy Conference of the International Dairy Federation (IDF) in Kochi, following the successful World Dairy Summit in 2022. This conference paves the way for insightful discussions, uniting leaders and experts from the global dairy sector to collaboratively address and take action on pressing issues. During the conference, I had the distinct honor of representing Mother Dairy in an esteemed panel discussion titled "Innovation in Processing & Testing." This vibrant forum brought together distinguished delegates and industry leaders, and it was an incredible privilege to share the stage with such experts. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the IDF Team and the NDDB Team for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts. As a participant, I showcased Mother Dairy’s strides in innovation, which are at the core of our success. It was my pleasure to present our significant advancements in process innovation, resulting in unique offerings such as Mishti Doi, Ultimate Curd, and Custard. These breakthroughs are the result of meticulous research and development, aimed at ensuring customer delight and meeting the evolving needs of our consumers. Another key focus of my presentation was on our rigorous testing mechanisms and packaging innovations that guarantee food safety and quality. Our ELISA-based Cow Milk Testing ensures the purity of cow milk, validated through thousands of samples, providing our customers with products they can trust. Additionally, our fatty acid profiling confirms the parameters of milk fat, ensuring the highest quality standards, and has been adopted by the food regulator, benefiting the industry at large. I also highlighted our innovative Silver Nanotechnology (AgNPs) Active Packaging to ensure the superior keeping quality of our products. Moreover, I touched upon our commitment to environmental sustainability with our eco-friendly Paper Pulp Tray, offering a sustainable packaging solution. I am immensely proud of the progress we have made and grateful for the dedication of our team in pushing the boundaries of innovation. I look forward to continuing this journey and contributing to the advancement of the dairy industry. In conclusion, the conference proved to be a valuable opportunity to highlight Mother Dairy's journey to stakeholders from various nations. We were honoured to have Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya amongst us at our Safal store along-with Shri Manish Bandlish Managing Director, Mother Dairy and other senior officials. Together, we have started retailing Meghalaya’s unique sweet Kew Pineapples through Safal stores for our esteemed consumers in Delhi. Being a subsidiary of NDDB, Mother Dairy and its brands have aways strived to support farmers of various regions with direct access to urban consumer markets, and this initiative is a perfect example of it. Australian High Commissioner to India, Mr. Philip Green OAM, First Secretary of Agriculture, Dr. Richard Niall, and Counsellor (Agriculture), Mr. Kiran Karamil visited our Patparganj Facility in Delhi, in the presence of Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board, accompanied by Mr. Manish Bandlish, Managing Director, Mother Dairy and other senior officials.    During the visit, Chairman, NDDB highlighted the ongoing efforts to bolster India’s dairy sector, emphasizing on NDDB’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the dairying ecosystem of the country. MD, Mother Dairy talked about the company’s remarkable 50-year journey, its achievements and the initiatives undertaken to serve the community at large. Shri Ramalinga Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Transport & Muzrai, Govt of Karnataka (GoK) & Dr Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB & Mother Dairy inaugurated the Safal Daily Fresh Super Market. It is set up by Karnataka Oil Federation (KOF) in collaboration with Mother Dairy Fruits & Vegetables Pvt Ltd. The event took place in gracious presence of Shri Venkatarao Nadagouda, Hon’ble Former Minister, GoK & Chairman, KOF; Shri Annasaheb Shankar Jolle, Hon’ble Former MP & former Chairman, KOF; Shri H Mahentesh Patil, Vice Chairman, KOF, Shri S Rajeev, ED, NDDB, Shri Manish Bandlish, MD, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd. and Shri GC Reddy, MD, KOF. The Hon’ble Minister expressed his joy at the launch, highlighting the super market's role in providing quality products, including locally sourced millets, at reasonable prices. He emphasised the cooperative spirit of selfless service and congratulated KOF and Mother Dairy for their efforts, hoping for more stores like this across Bangalore and the state of Karnataka. Chairman, NDDB thanked KOF and Mother Dairy for their collaboration in enhancing customer experience and promoting fresh and staple agricultural products. He mentioned the potential of these stores to market Organic Products under the Bharat brand by NCOL, honey & other products from FPOs. He praised KOF's success as a model for other states and noted NDDB's support in manpower, financial assistance, ERP software implementation and expansion of sunflower seed cultivation. He also highlighted the increase in the sunflower seed price from Rs 185/kg to Rs 439/kg, benefiting oilseed producers. Dr. Shah expressed hope for similar initiatives for other oilseeds to achieve self-sufficiency and reduce import dependency in edible oil. Chairman KOF shared that the organisation has been operational for almost 30 years with an elected Board, thanks to NDDB's financial aid and support in reviving defunct societies. He mentioned KOF's range of 20 different products and plans to further diversify. Shri Jolle thanked NDDB for securing better prices for sunflower oilseed growers and their continued support in making Oil Cooperatives successful in Karnataka.
