अगस्त 2022 में, एमएफएफ ने दिल्ली के चार समुदायों- नंदलाल बस्ती (मुखर्जी नगर), आईजी कैंप-2 (तैमूर नगर), पहाड़ी (नूर नगर), और जसोला गांव (जसोला विहार) के किशोरों और महिला घरेलू कामगारों के साथ एक अनौपचारिक अध्ययन किया। -उनके जीवन पर जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रभाव की जांच करना। अध्ययन में जाँच की गई कि अत्यधिक गर्मी उनकी दैनिक दिनचर्या को कैसे प्रभावित करती है, साथ ही उनके सामने आने वाली सामाजिक-आर्थिक और स्वास्थ्य चुनौतियों का भी पता लगाया गया। इसमें इस बात पर भी प्रकाश डाला गया कि कैसे लैंगिक गतिशीलता महिलाओं और लड़कियों पर अतिरिक्त बोझ डालती है, और वे इन चुनौतियों का सामना किस प्रकार करते हैं। यहाँ कुछ निष्कर्ष दिए गए हैं। #ClimateChange #GlobalWarming #CommunityEmpowerment #ClimateJustice #DomesticWorkers #GenderEquality

In August 2022, MFF conducted an informal study with adolescents and women domestic workers from four communities in Delhi—Nandlal Basti (Mukherjee Nagar), IG Camp-2 (Taimoor Nagar), Pahadi (Noor Nagar), and Jasola Gaon (Jasola Vihar)—to examine the impact of climate change on their lives. The study examined how excessive heat affects their daily routines, delving into the socio-economic and health challenges they face. It also highlighted how gender dynamics place an additional burden on women and girls, as well as the coping mechanisms they adopt to manage these challenges. Here are some of the findings. The winner of the Special Jury Award - Organisation, at the 8th Martha Farrell Award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality is Goranbose Gram Bikash Kendra (GGBK)! Founded in 1985, GGBK has been working in the Sundarbans region of West Bengal with vulnerable communities addressing issues like human trafficking, child and women’s rights, and the impacts of climate change. Given the remote context and the climate vulnerability of the region, gender related issues like rape, child marriage and trafficking are even more heightened. GGBK emphasises raising and developing outstanding leaders among women, youth and children as active citizens. महिला सशक्तिकरण और लैंगिक समानता में उत्कृष्टता के लिए 8वें मार्था फैरल पुरस्कार में विशेष जूरी पुरस्कार (संगठन) के विजेता गोरानबोस ग्राम विकास केंद्र (GGBK) हैं! 1985 में स्थापित, GGBK पश्चिम बंगाल के सुंदरबन क्षेत्र में कमजोर समुदायों के साथ मानव तस्करी, बाल और महिलाओं के अधिकारों और जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रभावों जैसे मुद्दों पर काम कर रहे हैं। दूरस्थ क्षेत्र और जलवायु की असुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए, यहाँ बलात्कार, बाल विवाह और तस्करी जैसी लैंगिक समस्याएँ और भी गंभीर हो जाती हैं।GGBK सक्रिय नागरिकों के रूप में महिलाओं, युवाओं और बच्चों के बीच उत्कृष्ट नेताओं को उभारने और विकसित करने पर ज़ोर देते हैं। PRIA India #MarthaFarrellAward #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment #SpecialJuryAward

The winner of the 8th Martha Farrell Award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality - Best Organisation for Gender Equality - is Mahila Abhivrudhi Mattu Samrakshana Samsthe (MASS)! A grassroots organisation based in Belgaum, Karnataka, MASS has been working since 1997 to dismantle the harmful Devadasi system and empower Dalit women and children, ensuring their rights, livelihoods, and a life of dignity. The winner of the Special Jury Award - Individual, at the 8th Martha Farrell Award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality is Taniya Sultana Laskar! A feminist lawyer from Barak Valley, Assam, Taniya provides legal support to women from minority communities, and is working to make access to justice easier for the people through documentation, legal interventions, legal research and building legal literacy in marginalised communities. Taniya has worked on issues of gender-based violence and discrimination, providing legal aid and support to survivors of violence. More recently, she has also been working extensively on the National Register of Citizens (NRC), documenting the impact of the NRC on individuals in the region and debunking misconceptions around the NRC in communities. She is also a co-founer of Sexuality and Gender Equality (SAGE), a queer-rights organisation advocating for LGBTQI issues and sensitisation towards the LGBTQI community. महिला सशक्तिकरण और लैंगिक समानता में उत्कृष्टता के लिए 8वें मार्था फैरल पुरस्कार में विशेष जूरी पुरस्कार (व्यक्ति) की विजेता तान्या सुल्ताना लश्कर हैं! असम के बराक घाटी से एक नारीवादी वकील, तान्या अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों की महिलाओं को कानूनी समर्थन प्रदान करती हैं और दस्तावेजीकरण, कानूनी हस्तक्षेप, कानूनी शोध और हाशिए पर स्थित समुदायों में कानूनी साक्षरता के निर्माण के माध्यम से न्याय तक उनकी पहुँच को आसान बनाने के लिए काम कर रही हैं। तान्या ने लिंग आधारित हिंसा और भेदभाव के मुद्दों पर काम किया है, और हिंसा से बचे लोगों को कानूनी सहायता और समर्थन प्रदान किया है। हाल ही में, वह राष्ट्रीय नागरिक रजिस्टर (एनआरसी) पर भी बड़े पैमाने पर काम कर रही हैं, क्षेत्र में व्यक्तियों पर एनआरसी के प्रभाव का दस्तावेजीकरण कर रही हैं और समुदायों में एनआरसी के बारे में गलत धारणाओं को दूर कर रही हैं। उन्होंने पूर्वोत्तर भारत में एलजीबीटीक्यू व्यक्तियों के अधिकारों और समानता की वकालत करने के लिए सपोर्टिंग एंड एडवोकेटिंग फॉर जेंडर इक्वेलिटी (SAGE) की सह-स्थापना भी की है। PRIA India #MarthaFarrellAward #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment #SpecialJuryAward

The winner of the 8th Martha Farrell Award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality - Most Promising Individual - is Augustina Soreng! Hailing from Simdega in Jharkhand, Augustina is championing the rights of tribal women and girls, and raising awareness among tribal youth of the rights guaranteed to them under the Constitution of India. In her career as a social activist, she has been working for the last 13 years in Simdega, challenging the patriarchal traditions in her community that particularly affect tribal women, including migration, human trafficking, witch hunting, domestic violence, sexual violence and land rights. महिला सशक्तिकरण और लैंगिक समानता में उत्कृष्टता के लिए 8वें मार्था फैरल पुरस्कार की विजेता - सबसे होनहार व्यक्ति - ऑगस्टिना सोरेंग हैं! झारखंड के सिमडेगा की रहने वाली ऑगस्टिना आदिवासी महिलाओं और लड़कियों के अधिकारों की वकालत कर रही हैं और भारत के संविधान के तहत दिए गए अधिकारों के बारे में आदिवासी युवाओं में जागरूकता बढ़ा रही हैं। एक सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता के रूप में अपने करियर में, ऑगस्टीना ने सिमडेगा में पिछले 13 वर्षों से काम कर रही हैं।आदिवासी महिलाओं की समस्याएँ, जैसे पलायन, मानव तस्करी, डायन शिकार, घरेलू हिंसा, यौन हिंसा और भूमि अधिकार पर काम कर के ऑगस्टीना अपने समुदाय में पितृसत्ता और इससे सम्बंधित परंपराओं को चुनौती देती हैं। PRIA India #MarthaFarrellAward #GenderEquality #WomenEmpowerment #Winner
