Last week I was at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Being the founder of LetsVenture, I am always expected to talk about funding! However having the option to talk to the best minds in the country, I wanted to talk of the “Invisible Block” of the startup ecosystem. The Unseen, Unheard but Unstoppable founders who are quietly building amazing companies. I meet so many founders everyday – many of them have built amazing businesses and have deep commitment to what they are building. However our focus remains on the ones who raise funding (which is fair as they get some initial validation on a idea from investors) However even as the founder of LetsVenture, I believe that funding news is overrated. Capital is only an enabler, and not the end goal itself. And how we choose to build is a choice we make as founders. There is a no right or wrong here. And that was the entire discussion for the 2 hours we were together. The fun part - I experienced the best hospitality from the IIM team with a complete campus tour, great conversations and good food. I was also superbly happy to see the number of women who were part of the cohort, who have left good jobs, and have many years of experience working, come back to continue to learn. That was the highlight for me personally. It is always refreshing to meet the builders of tomorrow, knowing this decade does belong to the Indian founder in the true sense. Shanti is currently the Founder and CEO of LetsVenture, India's largest online platform for startup investing and fundraising for new-age companies, angel investors and even VC funds.
