Expanding AWaDH SpINe (Spoke Institute Network) with our collaboration with the University of Ladakh! iHub - AWaDH @ IIT Ropar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (#MoU) with the University of Ladakh. This collaboration aims to leverage our combined strengths to drive #innovation and #sustainability in the fields of #Agriculture and #Water under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The MoU facilitates a wide range of interactions between iHub - AWaDH and UoL, enhancing activities of mutual interest aimed at serving society through #technology and innovations. The Indian government is set to launch the 'Agri Fund for StartUps & Rural Enterprises' (#AgriSURE) with an initial corpus of ₹750 crore. This initiative, created by NABARD - National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, aims to support #agritech startups and #agripreneurs through equity and debt investments. This fund is poised to drive #innovation and #sustainability in India's agricultural sector. At iHub AWaDH, we have been actively working in this domain and have achieved remarkable milestones. Since our inception, we have supported a total of #114 startups. Currently, we are incubating #98 startups. Our efforts have resulted in the graduation of #14 startups, showcasing the effectiveness of our incubation program. Additionally, #85 startups have benefited from our seed support initiatives. Our incubator has a substantial corpus of ₹33.90 crore dedicated to supporting startups, and have already committed #15 crores to #84 startups through various initiatives like #SAMRIDHI, #ATMAN, #SPRINT, #SISFS, HDFC Parivartan #Water Challenge, etc. This financial backing has enabled 45 startups to raise external funds, amounting to over #₹94 crore. Moreover, #71 of our incubated startups have successfully launched their products in the market, demonstrating the tangible impact of our support. We are committed to fostering innovation and driving growth in the #agritech and #watertech sector. With initiatives like AgriSURE, the future of agritech in India looks promising. CRDT focuses on improving the quality of life for rural communities by developing and transferring technologies in areas such as algal bioenergy, biomass and biogas technologies, ecological sanitation, food safety, sustainable agriculture, housing, value-added food products, and water and waste management. Dr. Dashora brings a wealth of experience in #agricultural research and development, with her work spanning across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
