🌱 Exploring Pathways for Climate-Tech Startups in India: A Collaborative Discussion 🌍 I had the distinct honor of participating in a thought-provoking discussion at the TAJ Coromandel Hotel (Chennai) Club House convened by Jawahar RMP , Gita Chengappa, Azam and the incredible TREC STEP/CITIC team. The focus of the meeting was the Green Climate Funds and its potential to catalyze change within India's climate-tech startup landscape. Distinguished attendees included Julien Taris and Kate Chang from the Green Climate Fund, and Syed Farman Imam from SIDBI(Small Industries Development Bank of India). The conversation centered around the challenges faced by climate-tech startups in India and the critical bottlenecks that must be addressed to foster growth. It was truly enlightening to witness passionate entrepreneurs coming together to share their experiences and insights. Representing our innovation, Xoptimus, Hivericks Technologies Founder Hemalatha Rajesh and I delved into the journey of our product, shedding light on the highs, lows, and the stark realities of being a climate-tech startup. But we weren't alone in this endeavor. Our fellow entrepreneurs, including Dhairyasheel Deshmukh from TOCAL (DbyT Dynamics Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) , Atul from Diffusion Coatech LLP, Sravan Appana from iGowise Mobility and Deepak Rajmohan from GreenPod Labs, echoed similar sentiments. Their stories mirrored the courage and resilience needed to navigate the intricate web of challenges. The discussion encompassed multifaceted aspects that need urgent attention. From funding constraints and R&D hurdles to impact measurement intricacies, scalability issues, and aligning with government and banking norms – every facet is pivotal. The role of enablers like Shravan Shankar and Chandran Krishnan from Campus Angels Network cannot be overstated. Their guidance and support stand as pillars, bolstering the aspirations of startups like ours. This gathering was not only about discussions but also about networking and fostering collaboration. Connecting with fellow entrepreneurs who share the same passion for innovation and sustainability was invigorating.
