Some #wednesdaywisdom coming your way, with this insightful blog authored by Gouri Gupta, Rashi Dhanani and Riya Sarin from CSF's EdTech team, focusing on a critical question - "Is there a way for policymakers to find out what #edtech product or tool can be considered most suitable to achieve the desired #education objectives?"💡 In this piece, they lay down the various barriers to effective selection of #elearning solutions faced by the government. As a potential solution to this challenge, the blog talks at length about EdTech Tulna - a product evaluation index built by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Central Square Foundation, which evaluates product design via a multi-dimensional index and aims to create a shared language for what ‘good’ EdTech products should look like. 🔗 Check out the full blog to learn more about Tulna, its adoption by different state governments in India, and the way forward: https://bit.ly/GPETulna Global Partnership for Education | The World Bank #SabkaEdTech #EdTechTulna #edtechsolutions #educationtechnology

Robust evaluation framework to select the right EdTech product, is a need across countries, stakeholders
It's concerning but not surprising that #evidence does not currently play a major role in informing which #edtech are adopted by governments - policymakers “don’t particularly care about evidence on edtech’s feasibility, sustainability, or impact because their motivation for edtech primarily derives from other sources. Additionally, their views regarding which edtech to prioritize appear to be misaligned with what research and many edtech experts view to be the value of edtech innovations in LMICs”. (Brookings). Ensuring that both sides, supply and demand, value evidence and put it at the heart of #edtech development, assessment and investment is critical. This is why we've made supporting the edtech evidence ecosystem one of our key areas of work to make evidence-based impact a central factor in decision-making processes: https://lnkd.in/eMwZgjyu https://lnkd.in/ednhMfZt
