However, rivers, farms, and ponds are at risk of drying up and pollution. 🌎 We at the Dholakia Foundation have a major commitment to restoring ecosystems by rejuvenating rivers through Mission River and growing trees through Mission102030. The Dholakia Foundation Executive team visited BJS (Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana) and met with it's founder Mr. Shantilal Muttha. We are grateful for our partnership with BJS on #MissionRiver aiming to restore waterbodies across india. The meeting focused on updates regarding current partnership and discussed other areas of collaboration in terms of innovation and shared strategies. Transitioning from a month-long heatwave, India enters the monsoon season. This season fills our rejuvenated rivers with overflowing water that symbolizes hope for over 250,000 locals and farmers that directly benefit from it. According to WWF, 1.1 billion people globally lack access to water and 2.7 billion experience water scarcity at least one month per year. Access to a reliable source of water amongst villages in India fuels our mission for restoring rivers. 🌎 River support ecosystems and communities. 💧 Healthy rivers empower youth and women living in communities most vulnerable to climate change. We at Dholakia Foundation support the Youth and Children’s Water and Climate Forum held during The Third High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” in Dushanbe, Tajikistan 🇹🇯 . Hosted by the Republic of Tajikistan and @uniceftajikistan , the Youth and Children’s Water Forum aims to catalyze youth engagement to accelerate SDG 6 and 13 by creating an #intergenerational platform. When asked about the importance of engaging youth towards the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, our CEO Keziah Theresee Gerosano says, “Youth carry the legacy of the SDGs and they consist the majority of global population.
