On July 1st, VSSC held a ceremony to commemorate the handing over of turnkey DC-DC converters, organized by VSSC Trivandrum. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a core value at Centum, and our employees consistently embody this principle. While the company engages in numerous CSR activities, Centum employees also take the initiative to contribute to society independently. One such initiative is the Food Fest @ Centum, a fundraising event where employees come together to pool money. The funds collected from the Food Fest are directed towards various CSR programs, primarily focusing on children's welfare, in alignment with Centum's philosophy.   This year, the funds were used to supply Nali-Kali tables to two government schools in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. These tables are particularly beneficial for children aged 5 to 7 years. Previously, the children had to sit on the floor, but with the new tables, they now have a comfortable and conducive learning environment. The excitement among the children and the happiness of the school staff were palpable, reflecting the positive impact of this initiative. Glimpses from the Recent Confederation of Indian Industry Karnataka R&D ConclaveHon’ble Minister Shri Priyank M Kharge participated in the CII Karnataka R&D Conclave. The Conclave was chaired by Mr. Apparao Mallavarapu, Convenor of the CII Karnataka Panel on Technology & Innovation 2024-25, and Chairman & Managing Director of Centum Electronics Ltd.. It was co-chaired by Mr. Pavan Ranga, CEO of Rangsons Technology. The event aimed to deliberate and discuss strategies for strengthening platforms for R&D collaboration and co-creation with ecosystem stakeholders, including policymakers, academia, think tanks, and industry, with a particular focus on engaging startups and MSMEs.

The CII R&D Conclave was an excellent start. The sessions were well-curated, featuring esteemed speakers from government, industry, startups, and academia. Apparao Mallavarapu the convenor for the R & D Conclave emphasized that in reality, it is a state of mind and a culture of “how can I add value to my Customer”. R&D doesn’t always has be a big product innovation. It can be simply improving the existing product and staying ahead of the market trends. There are many mechanisms to inculcate an R&D mindset, such as Lean R&D, collaborate with others, use affordable technologies such as digital tools and don’t let anyone tell you, including yourselves that you are too small to do R&D.  He urged to everyone to engage actively in the discussions, participate in the workshops, and seize networking opportunities. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region Karnataka is organizing the first edition of the CII R&D Conclave 2024 on June 19, 2024, in Bengaluru. This event is designed to leverage research and development (R&D) to foster a robust ecosystem that generates economic value through the effective development of technology and the building of intellectual capital. Apparao Mallavarapu, CMD of Centum Electronics, serves as the convenor of the CII Karnataka Panel on Technology for the year 2024-25. He along with other eminent people are driving the conclave which aims to bring together a diverse group of participants, including industry professionals, researchers, academicians, policymakers, entrepreneurs, startups, and students.
