The Behavioural Insights Unit, Uttar Pradesh (UP-BIU) is working in partnership with the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Government of Uttar Pradesh, to develop a series of behaviorally informed training videos for their front-line health workers on complex topics of complementary feeding and use of growth monitoring devices which has a direct impact on child health and growth outcomes in the state. We recently organized a design consultation for the department attended by Ms Sarneet Kaur Broca, Director, ICDS and her team of senior officials along with our technical partner UPTSU. The primary objective of this diagnostic workshop was to collectively explore the different pathways through which we can integrate behavioural science into the training. #BehaviouralInsights #ChildDevelopment #HealthWorkers #ComplementaryFeeding #GrowthMonitoring #ChildHealth #UttarPradesh #ICDS #BehavioralScience #TrainingVideos Aastha Bhakhri Nymphea Noronha Nilanjana Bargotra Gopikrishnan Nair Pravin Singh Kavya Manvi

Our research on UPI-based user experiences recently sparked lively discussions in a Grade 11 Psychological Enquiry class. The students delved into how researchers understand behaviour in India, broadening their perspectives beyond clinical psychology. The study focused on 'Understanding Constrained Users' Experience of UPI-Based Payments.' You can read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/ecgs-vzc At its core, this experience underscores the importance of democratizing behavioural science. By making research accessible and relevant to young minds, we empower future researchers to drive positive change. We're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their education and can't wait to see where their curiosity leads next! #BehavioralScience #UPIPayments #PsychologicalEnquiry #ResearchInEducation #YouthEmpowerment #FutureResearchers #InclusiveResearch #EducationInnovation #StudentEngagement #BehavioralEconomics #IndiaResearch #ScienceForChange

Empowering the Next Wave of Women Leaders We are delighted to announce the successful launch of "The Smart Fellowship: Workplace Skills for Success" Programme in Lucknow, which took place last week with an impressive lineup of speakers. As a proud knowledge partner in this initiative, the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) at Ashoka is committed to integrating behaviour science to enhance the impact of this programme, especially in advancing women's economic empowerment. This transformative initiative, led by the Nimaya Foundation, has garnered an overwhelming response, with over 3,000 young women applying and 1,000 getting selected. Along with these smart naaris, we enjoyed panel discussions bringing together successful entrepreneur Masterchef Pooja Dhingra, Businessworld's Dr Annurag Batra, business leader Smita Vaish Agarwal, youth icon Prajakta Kohli to discuss how soft skills propelled their careers. This programme stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the potential of behaviour science in creating meaningful change, in this case, women's empowerment. We are eager to see how these smart naaris will leverage their new skills to thrive at work and beyond.
