✨Taking that Leap from Writer to Author✨ In the first week of September, I reached an important milestone in my professional journey. After years of working as a writer and editor, I took the leap and decided to publish something innately personal—an anthology of poems with BookLeaf Publishing. Today, I’m proud to call myself a published author! 📚 The transition from editing and refining the words of other writers, to building that courage to put my own words out into the world has been incredibly rewarding. I have always enjoyed the thrill that comes with writing and creating, but stepping into the role of an author feels like the culmination of the years I spent learning and honing my skills, steadily growing to take on more responsibility, along with hard work, perseverance and agility. From enhancing the art of storytelling to embracing the vulnerability that comes with sharing my own voice, there’s so much that I’ve learned along the way. For anyone thinking about making a similar leap, my advice is simple: trust your voice, be patient with the process, and never stop learning. I’m grateful for the incredible support and guidance from family, friends, teachers, and mentors who have encouraged me, given me feedback throughout this journey. As a writer, there's nothing better than being able to share your thoughts with the community. After authoring 'Aisha: It’s all about being alive', a fiction novella that narrates a simple story, I had dreamt of being a proud author of a poetry book one day. And, here it is! It is also exciting to share that I am a proud recipient of the 21st century Emily Dickinson Award. Thank you BookLeaf Publishing for the same. It's wonderful to finally share this huge achievement with you all. 'Only the Brave' contains poetry with insights on combating challenges through self-exploration. It covers a range of themes like courage, hope, man's connection with nature, transcendence, solace, and spirituality. The poems will appeal to poetry lovers of all ages, particularly the young audience. My research encourages ecocritical readings of texts to tackle global concerns and cultivate eco-spirituality to further advocate personal and spiritual growth. 'Only the Brave' uses natural imagery to highlight nature's ability to help humankind introspect on their role in this universe. The poems in the book are inspired by my idea of viewing nature as a tool towards personal and spiritual growth further embracing the idea of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. Have you ever felt so underconfident that you were afraid before taking the baby steps? Sometimes, we think our achievement is just a tiny one with low success sound. But do you know it's the main signal towards your success path? Four years back, I started writing quotes because I love writing. Then suddenly, in December 2022, I saw an instagram post with a 21-day writing challenge to become a published author. I submitted my write-ups with 21 short poems. But after that, I thought about the benefit of just submitting the poems and becoming the author. That was the biggest turning point of my life. I received the published book in my hand. It was a dream come true when everyone started appreciating my write-ups. I used to take my writing as an ordinary one. I commit grammatical errors. But I realized that you do not need perfection every time. I am writing this post today as I feel its worth every day. My seniors, friends, and family call me a “Writer.”I think that dedication and efforts never dies. I am thankful to BookLeaf Publishing for giving me an extraordinary opportunity. Ask, "Why me?" 😭 Then calm down, take your time and Google, "things I can do with free lemons". 🔍 Trust me, the options will make you say, "I'm the chosen one!" 👼 (Thank me later. Wait, the story isn't over yet) But then again, life is not just a land of lemons, right? I mean how long would you get freebies you never asked for and host parties?
