  • BEL today signed a tripartite MoU with joint stock company Rosoboronexport, Russia, and MSK Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for co-operation in the licensed production and supply of indigenised ammunition: 30 mm ammunition (HEI & HET), 40 mm ammunition (VOG-25) and 30 mm grenade ammunition (VOG-30 D). The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Rosoboronexport. It will enable the indigenisation of ammunition, as required by the Indian Army, in line with the Government of India's 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives. Mr K V Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing), BEL, and Mr Viacheslav V Kozlov, Deputy Director General, Rosoboronexport, signed the MoU documents in Delhi today in the presence of Mr Anuj Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, MSK Business Solutions Pvt Ltd, and GMs of BEL.

  • BEL has been awarded First Prize in the "Excellent Achievement" category at the "Government Achievements & Schemes Expo 2024", held from July 20-22, 2024, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. BEL showcased at the expo its significant innovations in various government projects and schemes, emphasizing its role in national security and public welfare, and contributions to the 'Make in India' and 'Digital India' programmes. BEL's display at the event included advanced technologies such as civil ATMs, Rail & Metro solutions, Radar systems, Smart & Safe Cities solutions, etc. The award was received on behalf of BEL by Dr Avinash Kumar Singh, DGM (Civilian Marketing), and Mr Nimant Singh Chauhan, Manager ( Civilian Marketing).

  • A Mongolian Defence delegation led by H.E. Maj Gen Ganbyamba Sunrev, Chief of General Staff, Mongolian Armed Forces, visited BEL-Ghaziabad today. The delegation was received by Ms Rashmi Kathuria, GM & Unit Head, GAD, along with Mr Srinivas Rao, GM (International Marketing), Mr Giriraja, GM (DCCS)/GAD, and Mr Prabhakar, OSD, DDP MoD. The delegation was shown the various manufacturing facilities and state-of-the-art products of BEL-GAD.

  • The Hon'ble Raksha Rajya Mantri, Shri Sanjay Seth, today visited BEL's Bangalore Complex and had a look at BEL's indigenously developed manufacturing capabilities and state-of-the-art products and solutions in defence, homeland security and civilian domains.   • A high-level delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), led by H.E. Maj Gen Lukwikila Metikwiza Marcel, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, DRC, visited BEL-Bengaluru recently. Mr Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, received the delegation and briefed them about the capabilities of BEL. The delegates were also taken to Military Radar Outdoor display and MILCOM SBU and shown some of the state-of-the-art products manufactured by BEL.

    BEL has received the Silver award in the "Implementation (Digitisation) of Employee Self-Service" category in the Economic Times PSU Leadership & Excellence Awards 2024. On behalf of BEL, the award was received by Mrs Prabha Goyal, GM (National Marketing), Mr Eswara Rao, AGM (IS), and Mr Arun, DGM (IS), from Mr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, at the ET Government PSU Summit 2024 yesterday at New Delhi. Mr Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, spoke at the Summit on indigenisation and self-reliance in defence.

    Mr Manoj Jain takes charge as Chairman & Managing Director of BEL Mr Manoj Jain took charge as the Chairman and Managing Director of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on June 20, 2024. He was Director (R&D) since September 26, 2022, and was also assigned with the additional charge of Director (Bangalore Complex) from August 1, 2023. Mr Manoj Jain was also assigned additional charge of Director (HR) from November 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023. He was General Manager of the Electronic Warfare & Avionics SBU at BEL's Bangalore Complex prior to his elevation as Director (R&D). Mr Manoj Jain joined BEL in August 1991 as Probationary Engineer after completing his BE (Electronics) from REC Jaipur (MNIT) with Gold medal. In an illustrious career spanning over three decades, he has made significant contributions to the field of Research & Development. During his initial years in D&E at BEL’s Kotdwara Unit, Mr Manoj Jain played a pivotal role in the development of Digital Multiplexers, Cross Connects, CDOT Exchanges and Military Switches. In 1999, he moved to BEL's Central Research Laboratory in Bangalore and was engaged in the development of technologies for Defence Networks and Network & Bulk Security Solutions. In the area of Radar, one of BEL's core businesses, he was involved in the development of VeXT, Scan Converter and Display using FPGA. Mr Manoj Jain served as Chief Scientist of CRL-Bangalore from December 2017 to May 2019, overseeing technological developments in all technical areas. He took over as General Manager of BEL's Product Development & Innovation Centre (PD&IC) in June 2019. During his two-year stint here, PD&IC developed many new products/sub-systems required for BEL, thus ensuring innovation and value addition, leading to self-reliance. Mr Manoj Jain took over as the General Manager and Head of the Electronic Warfare & Avionics SBU at BEL-Bangalore, in June 2021. Apart from overseeing all the business operations of the SBU, he provided the much-needed vision for this business vertical. Mr Manoj Jain has received various R&D awards, Key Contributor Awards, Raksha Mantri's Award and SODET Awards. He has published many technical papers, applied for several patents and delivered talks to Defence users and DRDO scientists.

Today, 1st of June, 2024, will go into the annals of the company's history. BEL launched its new uniforms, marking a strategic move towards envisioning growth and modernisation. The new uniforms were unveiled by CMD and Directors during a business workshop held at Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. BEL partnered with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bangalore, to redesign and modernise its uniforms for both male and female employees. This update, the first in 37 years, aims to present to the world a modern and professional image of BEL, evolving with the times while maintaining its core values and identity. The initiative reflects BEL's commitment to aligning its corporate image with future-oriented strategies.
