History
The music publisher Hugo Pohle operated in Hamburg from 1871 until 1891, publishing mainly domestic and choral music, but also several complete editions: Robert Schumann's piano and chamber music, Joseph Haydn's and Felix Mendelssohn's piano works, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's violin sonatas (edited by Wilhelm Speidel). The catalog also included Wilhelm Popp's works for flute, Bernhard Romberg's and Louis Lubeck's for cello, and Johann Lauterbach's and Edmund Singer's editions for violin. In 1891 the firm was purchased by Schweers & Haake of Bremen.
