Thanks to Salvatore G Viscomi, MD for the shoutout in his latest column for Forbes. As he notes, #CKD is an immediate, and growing, global crisis. More than 850 million people in the world have CKD, yet up to 90% are unaware that they do. We completely agree that increasing access and providing sustainable, scalable screening options are critical to addressing the CKD challenge. https://lnkd.in/ejqZ8PXW

Today is #WorldHypertensionDay, the aim of which is to raise awareness and promote high blood pressure prevention, detection and control. High blood pressure is considered a “silent killer” as there are no obvious symptoms and is a major risk factor for heart disease, stroke, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). According to a 2023 report from the American Heart Association, nearly half of all Americans (more than 122 million people) aged 20 and up have it - and most don’t know that they do. As the theme for World Hypertension Day says, "Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer."

Last month, we launched a program with Johns Hopkins Hospital to improve wound care management for patients suffering from chronic diabetic wounds. By harnessing the capabilities of smartphones, computer vision, and AI— we're helping diabetes patients overcome barriers to care and lowering healthcare costs by reducing the need for timely, expensive clinic visits. The program is showing strong results, and offers a new path forward for wound care. Check out this MedCity News profile on our work https://lnkd.in/g8rKJEVt
