Today, we managed to take a brief respite from all the surroundings and gather for the Morning of Hydrogen No. 6! The Israeli hydrogen community is growing, and I had the pleasure of hosting the leaders of this wonderful community at our innovation center, Quantum Hub. Despite the challenging times in Israel, the activity in the hydrogen sector is evident both in the development of Israeli startups and among the more established companies involved in this emerging field. The promotion of hydrogen innovation relies on various aspects, including budgets, enabling regulation, and collaboration between academia and industry. However, in the absence of a government-funded program to promote the field in Israel, the driving force needed is the users (off-takers)! From energy pilots, backup projects, transportation, industry, and other uses. Users can occur among governmental or private companies and within the defense forces. Any possible user will create a supportive work environment whose experiences, problem-solving, setup processes, maintenance, and service will lead to the deep understanding required to bring unique solutions and groundbreaking innovation. Only this way can we secure our rightful place in the hydrogen world. I want to thank Meshi Laks from the Ministry of Energy for updating us on the Hydrogen Forum led by the ministry, Alex Lazebnikov from the Electric Company for presenting their concept regarding carbon capture, Prof. Lior Elbaz from Bar-Ilan Uni for his fascinating lecture on hydrogen uses worldwide, Racheli Kreisberg, PhD MBA for presenting her activities in the hydrogen training course, and Liran Dor from Boson for presenting the development of waste-to-hydrogen technology.
