Following the successful completion of our Global ShortCut Pivitol study, we are absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of our Continued Access study for ShortCut in the U.S. 🚀 A huge shoutout to Dr. Saibal Kar, Dr. Gregory P. Fontana, MD, FACC, FACS, and the amazing team at 🏥 Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center for kicking off this new chapter. They performed the first two ShortCut cases in the study on patients with very challenging anatomies, including failed Trifecta and Magna Ease valves at risk of coronary obstruction. Both patients were treated successfully with a dual leaflet split using the ShortCut device, enabling a safe TAVR. This expansion of our clinical program allows us to gather even more valuable insights. Here’s to reaching more patients and making a difference! ✨ . . . Leading the way for leaflet modification
About us
Pi-Cardia is a medical device company and market leader in the development of a broad portfolio of leaflet modification solutions for treating heart valves. The company has years of knowledge and expertise accumulated in degenerated valves, including calcification patterns, mode of valve failure, and impact of various methods of leaflet modification. ShortCut™ is designed to provide a safe, simple, and effective way to split leaflets of a pre-existing valve to enable TAVR in patients at risk for coronary obstruction and may assist in preserving coronary access.

Leaflet modification is key for the lifetime management of patients requiring multiple valve interventions 🫀 ✅ Annual ViV is projected to reach ~42k US procedures in 2035 (~15% of all TAVR). ✅ With increased TAVR usage, total annual TAVR-in-TAVR is expected to overtake TAVR-in-SAVR by 2028. Congratulations to the authors on this important article! 👏 https://lnkd.in/du6vHPmJ Philippe Généreux Roy Dar Rishi Puri Yoseph Rozenman Molly Szerlip Pradeep Yadav Vinod Thourani Philippe Pibarot Danny Dvir Susheel Kodali Didier Tchetche Benjamin Seguy Paolo Denti Saibal Kar Ulrich Gerckens Medtronic Cardiac and Vascular Edwards Surgical Structural Heart Therapies Abbott | Cardiovascular Boston Scientific Cardiology CRF PCR #PiCardia #ShortCut #TAVI #TAVR #AorticValve #AorticStenosis #ValveinValve #VIV #Innovation #StructuralHeart #LifetimeManagement #LifetimeManagementofAS #percutaneoustreatment #transcatheter #leafletsplitting #medtech #startuphealth #coronaryobstruction #coronaryaccess #leafletmodification #valvefailure #mechanicalsplitting #valves

With an expected rise in redo TAVI and valve-in-valve procedures, there is heightened interest in technologies that can help to facilitate coronary access and prevent obstruction resulting from the treatment. At PCR London Valves, Didier Tchetche presented details of the ShortCut pivotal trial, outlining details of one such device aimed at addressing this need.

#ShortCut addresses an unmet need and will be important for the lifetime management of patients requiring multiple valve interventions. ✅60 pts treated with failed bioprosthetic valves at risk for coronary obstruction (single split 63% and dual split 37%). ✅Leaflet splitting with ShortCut met the primary safety endpoints, with 0% procedural mortality and 1.7% stroke. ✅Primary efficacy endpoint of successful leaflet splitting was achieved in 100% of pts. ✅Leaflet split achieved efficiently with a single attempt in all cases, despite being performed by first time users (no roll-in subjects). . . .
