Israel is a global powerhouse in Robotics and AI Innovation Israel stands out as a leader in robotics and AI, boasting a robust ecosystem that spans various sectors, including defense, agriculture, healthcare, and consumer robotics. Notable exits like Mazor Robotics ($1.6B by Medtronic) and Mobileye ($15.3B by Intel) highlight the country’s innovation prowess. Companies such as Tevel Aerobotics, developing autonomous fruit-picking drones, and ReWalk Robotics, creating wearable exoskeletons, are pushing boundaries in their fields. 🤖 Israel’s strength in AI is bolstered by R&D centers for global giants like NVIDIA, Intel, Google, Microsoft, Apple, IBM and much more supported by top academic institutions including the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Tel Aviv University Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and the The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and more. These collaborations drive advancements in AI and machine learning, ensuring a continuous flow of talent and innovation. 💡 The Israel Innovation Authority plays a pivotal role, investing heavily in tech startups and R&D projects. The high-tech sector contributed 18.1% to Israel’s GDP in 2022, with a high-tech output of 290 billion shekels. Since 2013, investments in Israeli startups have grown fivefold, totaling around $95 billion, placing Israel sixth globally in capital raised. 🚀 Israel’s expertise spans various robotics applications. In agriculture, Tevel Aerobotics revolutionizes with autonomous drones; in healthcare, ReWalk Robotics aids those with spinal injuries; and in defense, companies like Elbit Systems and Rafael lead in advanced robotics. With over 9,000 active tech companies, Israel ranks third globally for startup density, after San Francisco and New York. This comprehensive support system enables Israeli robotics startups to thrive globally, securing Israel’s position as a hub for technological innovation and a leader in the robotics and AI industries.

Yesterday, Quantum Hub had the pleasure of hosting a Robotics Enrichment Day alongside our esteemed partners, BAZAN Group Oil Refineries Ltd and Bnnovation - Bazan Innovation. The event was an incredible opportunity to dive deep into the latest advancements in the robotics field. The world of robotics is experiencing major breakthroughs, creating new opportunities that were considered impossible just a few years ago. Staying up-to-date with these technologies is crucial for leveraging their potential within our partners. During this day, Bazan’s innovation teams had the privilege of hearing from Dror Ben David, a leading expert in robotics and AI with several decades of professional expertise in the defense and civil industries. He shared his insights and knowledge about the integration of robots with LLM & AI, thank you Dror for an inspiring lecture.  In addition, four leading Israeli startups in the robotics field presented their cutting-edge technologies: Deep Learning Robotics - Carlos Benaim: Developing a vision-based robotic controller that uses advanced machine-learning algorithms to enable robots to learn and replicate tasks by observing humans performing them. Mentee Robotics - Lior Wolf: Building humanoid robots capable of performing complex tasks using the latest AI tools. Apeiro Motion - Netzer Hertz: Specializing in robotic systems and solutions, and offering high-capability robots at low costs to address various challenges. Robotican - Ofir Bustan: Developing robotic technologies and autonomous solutions, which provide a wide range of custom-made aerial and ground autonomous mobile platforms as well as ROS algorithm solutions. Yesterday’s event has sparked the beginning of many great collaborations and innovative projects for Bazan within the robotics industry. A big thank you to Bazan’s management, innovation teams, and everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the day.
