In our rapidly changing world, #farmers are faced with increasingly complex agronomic challenges as they strive to maintain yields, and find sustainable #CropProtection options that reduce environmental impact.   Our challenge is to learn from experiences in the field; using our expertise to create innovative technologies for our products, to help farmers grow crops and feed the world’s growing population.   🧪 SESGAMA™ technology enables more active ingredient to exist in a smaller volume, reducing environmental impact throughout the life of the product.   🌾 Asorbital® technology improves leaf penetration and the movement of active ingredient through the plant, giving superior performance to protect cereal yields.   These are just two of our many proprietary technologies, that are the basis for our continued #innovation providing new, sustainable formulations aligned with growers’ needs.

The common poppy (Papaver rhoeas) may be beautiful, but for #farmers it’s a troublesome weed; especially in winter cereals and oilseed rape, where it can compete with crops and reduce yields.🌾 By quickly growing and setting seed before the host crop is mature, poppies can ensure their long-term survival. The tiny seeds spread efficiently in the wind and can remain dormant for up to 100 years; waiting patiently in soil for the perfect conditions, before new plants germinate in autumn and spring, and the #weeds thrive once again. 🌱 In this stunning image sent by our colleague Remigijus Peleckis (PhD) for #PhotoFriday, we see poppies growing in winter wheat fields in the Panevėžys District Municipality, of Lithuania.

Combining #AgTech solutions with innovations in #CropProtection products is one of the most exciting prospects for sustainable #agriculture. In Brazil, we’ve partnered with Baldan Connected on a project that applies products to sugar cane fields using drones, which can potentially reduce the use of herbicides by up to 85% in some applications. 🛩️ Delivering precise application, only where needed, and overcoming problems with monitoring and treating well developed crops,  or those in awkward terrain; drones are proving to be a valuable asset, helping to sustainably tackle some of the most troublesome problems in the cultivation of sugar cane. 🛰️ Read more about this innovative project in the article published by Agro Pages ➡️ https://bit.ly/3W1Xg8u

When sugar cane was first introduced to Brazil more than 500 years ago, it was almost as valuable as gold! Since then the crop has become a cornerstone of the country’s agriculture and economy, with Brazil becoming the largest sugar producing country in the world. 🪙 Farmers producing sugar cane are not only vital contributors to the global demand for sugar, but they are also supplying the raw material needed to make ethanol - a central product in the growing demand for biofuels. 🚗 Thanks to our colleague André Shimohiro (André) for capturing this image of sugar cane farmers working in fields in the Rolândia province of Brazil. 📷 #PhotoFriday

The poppy is often considered a weed in cereal fields, but it’s also grown as a crop for its oil-rich seeds. Cultivated in many countries in Europe, the largest producer is the Czech Republic, with around 26,000 hectares allocated to the crop. 🌸   Thank you to our Slovakian colleagues for sharing this beautiful image of a winter poppy crop flowering in the Galanta district of Slovakia. #PhotoFriday 📷

Soy is easy to double crop in the same season and is grown all over the world for its versatility, affordability, and nutritional benefits. Containing 40% protein and 20% oil, the ‘king of beans’ is used to feed humans and livestock, and is also used to make biodiesel fuel. 🫘 Thanks to our colleague André Shimohiro (André) for sharing this stunning image from the Rolândia province of Brazil, where he found soy fields, topped with a beautiful rainbow. #DidYouKnow that for a rainbow to be seen, the sun needs to be behind the viewer and low in the sky - at an angle of less than 42° above the horizon; and rain, fog (or some other source of water droplets) must be in front of the viewer. The lower the sun in the sky, the more of an arc of a rainbow will be seen. 🌈 #PhotoFriday

Changes in our environment, fuelled by #ClimateChange, are creating increasingly complex agronomic challenges for farmers. We work with growers, to create practical and sustainable #CropProtection solutions, that have the lowest possible impact on people and the planet. Our environmental targets cover every aspect of our operations, and we continually invest to reduce our carbon footprint, the waste we create, and the water we use. ⚡ Already, more than 10% of the energy we use is from renewable sources. This figure will grow as we invest in renewable energy. 💧 We have already achieved about a 12% reduction in water consumption. Our commitment to reducing water usage includes innovative solutions that promote efficient and responsible use, such as rainwater harvesting and reclamation projects for water reuse. ♻️ We recognize our responsibility spans the entire lifecycle of our products, and engage in a diverse range of strategies to minimize and recycle waste. 48% of our hazardous waste is recycled and we aim to increase this figure further.
