The Central Bank of Ireland recently published an Addendum to the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) to recognise sustainability knowledge and competence. The changes are not complex but should be reviewed and policies/procedures updated if the MCC affects you or your firm, you can find further information here: https://lnkd.in/dgjYsm4r In summary; The Addendum will come into effect on 1 Jan 2025. This Addendum is effective for anyone selling or providing advice on financial products or services that incorporate a sustainability element. The Central Bank recognise sustainability knowledge and competence in the MCC. The Central Bank is also recognising sustainability training for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, where it is directly relevant to a person’s role. In Part 1 of this Addendum the Central Bank sets out the amendments to recognise sustainability knowledge and competence for the purposes of the MCC. In Part 2 The Central Bank takes this opportunity to make some drafting amendments to update references in the MCC. https://lnkd.in/ensyhXhN The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) issued 2,261 work permits for the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector over the first seven months of 2024. The latest data, published by the department, shows that 402 permits were granted during the month of July. This is the second highest monthly figure this year after February when 591 permits were issued.
