We are delighted to announce the successful launch of our latest exhibition, "Creepy Crawlies: Love/Hate," at The Hunt Museum. This exhibition, which opened on Thursday, 11th July 2024, explores the fascinating world of insects and their crucial roles in our ecosystem. We were honored to have garden designer Diarmuid Gavin and biologist, environmentalist, broadcaster, and author Éanna Ní Lamhna join us for the opening event. "Creepy Crawlies: Love/Hate" aims to engage, educate, and inspire visitors of all ages through interactive displays, educational workshops, and select pieces from our collection that highlight the artistic and historical significance of insects. The exhibition will run until 21st November 2024, providing the opportunity for all to delve into the wonders of the insect world. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who attended the launch and to our dedicated team for their hard work in bringing this exhibition to life. The exhibition aims to deepen the understanding of insects' vital role in our ecosystem, featuring pieces from the Hunt Museum's collection that highlight their representation in art and artefacts. Families, students, and insect enthusiasts can enjoy live demonstrations, participate in educational workshops, and view unique insect-inspired art. The Hunt Museum was delighted to co-host this year's #DPASSH (Digital Preservation for the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities) Conference in Limerick City alongside the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) and the University of Limerick Library this week. Shooting the Breeze is our competition for Transition year students this year and is being run in conjunction with The Hunt Museum. we have received a record number of applications for the competition and the task of judging will be immense.
