About us
Tesco is one of the biggest private sector employers in Ireland employing over 13,000 colleagues across the country. Our core purpose is to serve our customers, communities and planet a little better every day - this is at the heart of everything we do. Supporting local suppliers is very much part of the business ethos of Tesco Ireland; we source from almost 500 Irish food and drink suppliers, in turn supporting almost 14,000 Irish farm families. All of the fresh beef, pork, lamb and eggs that Tesco Ireland sells are 100% Irish. In Ireland and internationally, we provide opportunities to get on, with diverse careers spanning retail stores, head office and our distribution centres. Everyone is welcome at Tesco - whoever you are, wherever you work, and whatever you do.

Thanks to the generosity of our colleagues and customers, €87,362 worth of products were donated through our Stronger Starts Summer Food Collection over the past three months. As an added bonus we will also be donating an additional €200 Tesco gift voucher to each of the 86 local Family Resource Centre's (Family Resource Centre National Forum) and community groups who took part in this summer’s collection. We hope that this provides another little help to those who need it. #StrongerStarts

Head of Quality, Technical & Sustainability Tracey McDermott and Dermot McGrath, Technical Manager headed to Ratheniska for the National Ploughing Association / Championships to meet the winners of the Certified Irish Angus Producers Schools Competition as they were presented with their calves. This competition is an educational aid for Ag Science students to learn about the care and attention required to produce quality Irish beef; something we’re all collectively passionate about. Well done ABP Food Group and Kepak Group for their championing of this great competition. Charles Smith

Two thirds of family carers in Ireland juggle work with caring responsibilities in their daily lives. That’s why we’re working with Family Carers Ireland to create a bespoke programme of activity and policies to ensure that colleagues who are also in caring roles at home, are recognised, supported, and accommodated in their professional career. Our friends at Family Carers Ireland will provide supports and resources for our colleagues nationwide who are balancing their jobs with caring responsibilities at home. Maurice Kelly, People Director at Tesco Ireland said: “We know that trying to juggle caring responsibilities with a job can present very real challenges for people, and we are committed to giving our colleagues access to the supports that they need and deserve. It will come as no surprise to anyone that caring for a loved one means colleagues may need to take time off, reduce their hours or change how they work. In partnership with FCI, through the Caring Employers Programme, we can better support colleagues with caring responsibilities and help them to balance having a career while working too. This one little help for colleagues is a tangible action we can do to best support our people in this way."
