Creating positive change together during TELUS Days of Giving 2024! 💜💚 #WeGiveWhereWeLive Fota Wildlife Park

💚💜 TELUS Days of Giving 2024 at Fota Wildlife Park 💜💚 What a day we had Fota Wildlife Park on June 28th for our biggest #GiveWhereWeLive event of the year. Almost 100 dedicated team member volunteers transformed a disused green space, neighbouring Fota's recently opened Education Centre, into a brand new serenity garden. This area will provide park visitors with a quiet place to go and relax in, as well as being a valuable resource for school groups. Some of the tasks included; planting wildflowers and native plants, laying pathways, painting and cleaning the animal enclosures. In addition to the hard work, our team members were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the park, where they got the opportunity to get up close and personal to some of the magnificent animals, while learning about the ongoing conservation efforts. We couldn't have achieved any of this without our fantastic team members. Their commitment to giving back underscores the importance of supporting the communities where we live, work, and serve. Lastly, a special thank you to Anne Hamilton, Garden Designer, for her exquisite landscaping expertise, and to all of the staff at Fota for their help both in the lead-up, and on the day itself! #TELUSDaysofGiving2024

Honeybee Workshop 2024! 🐝🍯 We have been fortunate to collaborate with Séadna Mac Giolla Coda from An Beach Dubh for the past three years, and recently he hosted a honeybee workshop at our Cork site. Our team members had the chance to get up close to the beehives, learning about all of the different sections, frames and bees that form the colony. It was fascinating to see how the bees work to turn nectar into honey, and some team members even had the rare opportunity to see a new bee being born! Having recently become an official conservation area, we will be continuing our biodiversity efforts as part of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan by having our site as a bee haven 🌻

Canada Day 2024! 🇨🇦 Canada Day is always a joyous celebration for our Senior Leadership Team, but this year was extra special as we bid farewell to Canadian Ambassador to Ireland, Nancy Smyth, who will be concluding her tenure at the end of the summer.
