There is a new Covid-19 variant called FliRT. Covid transmission continues at moderate to high levels in Ireland. Remind your patients to stay informed of the latest advice and to remain vigilant for COVID-19 symptoms. Advise on what steps to take to help prevent the spread in both the community, and in healthcare settings, to protect vulnerable people at high risk of severe COVID-19 disease. This current wave is a reminder that COVID-19 continues to circulate throughout the year and remains a considerable burden on the population and our health services when circulation is high. Meet and get to know Dr Clare Keane, who works as the Medical Director for TCP Homecare having joined the business in 2011. Clare has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry with a degree in social science, followed up by nursing and clinical psychology qualifications, and if that wasn’t enough, Clare also completed her medical training and graduated with her MD in 2004 all while raising her family! Outside of her day job, Clare is also coroner for County Dublin. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀? I am the Medical Director for TCP and my main responsibility is around Clinical Governance of services and contracts in both the public and private sector. 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲? My mornings follow no routine! I could be awake from 4 or 5 am and often do some work at that time or get up later and work then. It all depends on the previous day's experience. We are a busy home of 6 people and 2 adorable cavalier dogs, so someone is always coming or going which I love. At work I am usually in to attend a meeting so that’s my main focus when I am on site. 𝗢𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰? I love listening to music in the car and have a highly varied Spotify list. I love " Astronaut " by Griff at the moment, "Love theme" from Cinema Paradiso and "Voilà "by Emma Kok is spectacular. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯? My favourite aspect of my job is problem solving, whether the issue relates to people or a clinical issue. 𝗔𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵? The younger self piece would be to advise that it is ok to not know what you really want to do, but when choosing do try to remember to match yourself to something that matches what you are naturally good at. So many still strive for high points courses, high status, higher paid roles regardless of whether they truly like the work. 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀? My advice for a new starter is that attitude is everything and the ability to be flexible in terms of work and other people is such a positive. One can always carry out and learn a role but ultimately it is how we are around people that truly matters. Everyone has a story. #dayinthelife #wedeliverhealth #wePHOENIX Elaine Condon Hillary Collins MCIPD Karen Malone

Our Senior Commercial Manager Carmel Mahon spoke at the recent All Ireland Nursing Festival about the opportunities for Nurses in the Community Setting, particularly as the new Sláintecare reform rolls out later this year. Our core activities are fully aligned with Sláintecare where we assist the HSE in delivering the right care, in the right place, at the right time. A full house on the day, Carmel was in demand after as the Nursing group in attendance were eager to learn more. #hse #nursing #communitynurses #nursegroup #nursingcareers
