Rehab Group was delighted to be recognised for our work in Digital and Assistive Technology by Minister Anne Rabbitte T.D. as DAT Central featured in the CREATE showcase, hosted by the Health Service Executive National Clinical Programme for People with Disabilities and Professor Rosie Gowran. DAT Central is Rehab Group’s First-Stop-Shop for Digital and Assistive Technology where we consider AT while personalising support for service users in RehabCare and students in National Learning Network. The Person and Technology match is a critical enabler supporting people to live the life of their choosing in line with their choices and preferences. CREATE I funding enabled Rehab Group to establish an in-house Digital and Assistive Technology service across Demonstration Sites. Through CREATE II funding, with proof of concept, we were able to scale the DAT Central service across all National Learning Network and RehabCare sites nationally. We have met just over 150 new AT users since we started, and 12 staff have achieved qualifications in Foundations in Assistive Technology with the Technological University Dublin. In the collaborative spirt of CREATE, we partner with Enable Ireland and access their established AT Loan Library when people are making choices about their equipment through technology trials. We are also grateful to be part of the welcoming CHAT (Community hub for Assistive Technology) Community of Practice with fellow AT advocates. A lifetime wish come true! 🎶 Stephen, who attends RehabCare Tullamore, is singer Shania Twain’s Number One fan. He was thrilled to travel to her concert at Malahide Castle in June alongside a group from the Hub Day Service in Tullamore including David, Bernard, Olive, and Sean. Stephen danced and sang along all evening. It was a wonderful experience for Stephen, with memories to cherish for years to come! #ThriveAchieveShine #Memories #CountryStar #Community #Tullamore #DayService #Friendships #Shania #ShaniaTwain
