We're very happy to report that three of our identity projects from last year — for Tall Order Coffee, St John of Gods and Maeve's Bar — are included in the 100 Archive's 2023 selection, launched last night at Etsy Ireland. You can take a close look at each of the selected projects (and lots more besides!) at www.reddog.ie Every year, the 100 Archive celebrates the top 100 examples of contemporary design from the previous year, showcasing the designers, collaborators, and clients behind each remarkable project. We want to congratulate the brilliant Red Dog team for securing three spots in this year's archive. New Work: Introducing CONCEPT, a new cutting-edge facility for early-stage biotherapy development at the NIBRT National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training. CONCEPT offers an innovative approach, providing clients with flexible and scalable solutions for their research/manufacturing needs. Our mission was to create a bold brand identity and website that embodies the forward-thinking and scientific excellence that defines the organisation: a brand that firmly positions CONCEPT within the biotherapy sector while pushing the boundaries to reflect its unique offering. Equally important was highlighting the exceptional team of scientists behind CONCEPT. Collaboration is at the heart of its operations, so we focused on showcasing the team's passion, drive, focus and openness. This human element fosters trust and connection with the brand. At least 1 in 4 children Barnardos Ireland works with have experienced the impact of domestic violence and abuse. We were honoured to work with Barnardos Ireland on a new campaign – #KidsVsDomesticViolence – which aims to give them an opportunity to tell their side of the story. When working on this campaign brief, our primary consideration was how we could empower children and young people and make them feel seen and heard. It was about creating a powerful tone to increase their visibility, amplify their voices, and validate their feelings and experiences. Throughout this week, you will see a series of posts and hear their words on radio stations nationwide. The campaign is a multi-agency collaboration with services from around Ireland. It includes the voices of more than 74 children and young people who have lived with the impact of domestic violence and want to have their voices heard. Working with them to bring this campaign to life was a privilege. This campaign also includes a toolkit and postcards that enable children and young people to communicate their own campaign message in their own words. Please visit https://lnkd.in/guRAM-cM for more information about The Empower Kids Project and this important campaign. Case study coming soon.

Our Creative Director Susan Carberry and designer Áine McGee welcomed a group of students from the University of North Florida to the studio last week where they presented an overview of our work at Red Dog, highlighted some of our projects, and shared their insights on a life in design. It was a pleasure to spend the morning with the students, accompanied by Professor Vanessa B. Cruz, and wish them all the best as they continue their academic and creative pursuits.

We made an excursion to Grangegorman yesterday to explore the Technological University Dublin GradX exhibition. Showcasing the exciting talents of over 200 students across various disciplines, including Fine Art, Visual Communication, Photography, Product Design, and Game Design, the exhibition is a captivating display of emerging creativity. It was fantastic to see so much super work and to chat with some of the students about their projects. Don't miss the chance to visit the exhibition before it closes tomorrow, June 8th, at TU Dublin's East Quad. For more information, visit  www.gradx.ie.

// New work // It's no secret that meeting all of Ireland's national climate targets by 2030 is an urgent challenge that will impact every level of our society. Recognising this urgency, the six architecture schools in the Republic of Ireland at Technological University Dublin, University College Dublin, Munster Technological University & University College Cork, University of Limerick, Atlantic Technological University, and South East Technological University have joined forces for a transformative project called Building Change. Building Change aims to empower future generations of architects in Ireland with the expertise and capabilities needed to forge a sustainable future, by emphasising design principles that prioritise sustainable building practices. With TU Dublin as the lead partner, it will revolutionise architectural education by placing climate literacy and climate action at the forefront of curricula. We worked with our partners in Alice Public Relations on the project's naming before designing an adaptable identity based on Voronoi patterns that appear everywhere in nature and the concept of biomimicry – the emulation of the models, systems, and elements of nature to solve complex human problems. We subsequently designed and developed a website for Building Change that aligns with the overall initiative's sustainability principles by: ⭐ keeping file sizes down by using SVG files rather than relying heavily on imagery or video ⭐ implementing minification techniques and static page caching to optimise performance ⭐ hosting the site with a Green provider that uses renewable energy-efficient methods to reduce consumption By incorporating these measures, Building Change's website has achieved a carbon rating of A from the Website Carbon Calculator and is 85% cleaner than all global web pages. Building Change is an exceptional coalition of dedicated individuals from architecture schools across Ireland, and we're proud to be involved with a collaboration that promises to radically revise how future architects are qualified to navigate and shape a sustainable world. We don't spend a lot of time looking back - and definitely not way, way back - but we were reminded this week of the 20th anniversary of the Day of Welcomes, a day of nationwide events in 2004 to celebrate the biggest expansion of the EU to date. The Day of Welcomes took place during Ireland's EU presidency and, having worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs on the identity for Ireland's presidency, we were asked to produce a suite of materials to promote events across the country. We delved into the Red Dog archives and found a few bits from those projects – buses! balloons! babies! bertie! – and thought we'd share them to mark the anniversary of what was a really optimistic moment for Ireland and the EU. Twenty years though - time flies when you're doing what you love. PS - that baby in Mary Doherty's arms is her eldest boy Sam - he towers over all of us now! Kim Robinson Debbie Cooke John Connolly

Congratulations also to Susan Carberry, our new Creative Director, who's the best person to build on Paula's legacy and push us on to greater things. Managing Director Red Dog

Thought I'd better share this before we go for our late lunch! After much soul searching and consideration Paula McEntee has decided to step back from full-time role as our Creative Director in Red Dog. She has given us 20 wonderful years - coming to us as a graduate intern and ending up as our superb creative lead. The good news is that she will stay working with us as an Associate CD. I will personally miss my little dynamo from Monaghan and I want to thank her for all she has done to make Red Dog what it is - and hopefully will still play a part in what it will be. We are so lucky here in Red Dog with the talent we have and thrilled that Susan Carberry now takes up the CD mantel and no better woman. She had forged a fantastic career for herself already and I can't wait to see where she brings us next. Life changes, work changes - it's all good. #sad/happy Red Dog Creative Agency
