Improving water use efficiency is a key factor towards reducing #water stress. The #waterfootprint is an environmental indicator that comprises the total volume of fresh water used for products, processes or services that are consumed. Together with the #carbonfootprint, it is one of the most commonly used environmental indicators to quantify the #sustainability of products and processes. As #solar cell #gigafactory are now becoming the norm all over the world, local impact can be significant and will very much depend on selected technologies.
