🎉Mercury recently celebrated a key milestone in the construction of the PAR11 project for our valued client Digital Realty. 🎉 In May we attended a ceremony event at the site, marking the completion of the super-structure and roof and paving the way for the internal fit-out to commence. The event, also known as the GIGOT bitumen ceremony, symbolises the progress of the work on PAR11, which forms part of Digital Realty’s Paris Digital Park campus. This achievement was made possible by the dedication and expertise of the Mercury project team and our partners, and we look forward to continuing our work with Digital Realty in Paris. In alignment with the UNSDG – Life on Land, Mercury works with a number of organisations across Europe involved in projects that strive to preserve and restore biodiversity. 🌍💚 In Germany, we have partnered with NABU e.V. an organisation which focuses on the restoration of rivers, by reactivating flood channels, dismantling levees and planting alluvial forests, enabling the river to regain its natural flow and become a habitat again for endangered species such as the Lapwing bird. These important preservation efforts help protect against extreme flooding and form a buffer for times of low precipitation. Additionally, the alluvial forest helps sequester carbon emissions. This is our second year of partnership with NABU. Our donation of €12,000 will go to the organisations’ Flussfonds initiative, allowing preparation of the land, planting and securing of trees and providing initial care at the Lower Havel, a wetland of international importance located near Berlin. Our ongoing commitment to organisations like NABU helps ensure these vital ecosystems are protected and helps us continue in our promise to create a more sustainable world around us. #OurPlanetOurDuty

To celebrate Pride Month in June, Mercury invited celebrated GAA star Dónal Óg Cusack to speak with our team about the power of diversity, inclusion and showing up as your authentic self. 🌈🎉 As a former goalkeeper for the Cork senior hurling team, he has captivated fans with his exceptional skills, dedication, and leadership. His legacy in GAA is one of excellence and inspiration. Donal Óg’s talents and achievements extend far beyond the pitch. He is also an accomplished engineering manager, demonstrating the same passion and precision in his professional career as he does in sports. An advocate for the LGBTQ community, Donal Óg became one of the first openly gay elite Irish sportsman when he came out in 2009, breaking perceptions around men in sport. This open, honest, and inspiring conversation explored the intersections of his careers in sport and engineering. An interactive Q&A session gave our team members the opportunity to ask specific questions, providing further insight into his journey on and off the pitch. “There’s a great power in being true to who you are. You’ll find most people are good people and will have your back and want to see you succeed no matter what.” Dónal Óg’s story is a powerful reminder of the power of authenticity and resilience. We’d like to thank him for speaking so openly, and providing an opportunity for reflection, helping us understand the importance of embracing diversity and different perspectives in our industry.
