Earlier this year IMMA partnered up with Inchicore College of Further Education to develop a Creative Traineeship 2024 – 2027 as part of the TikTok Digital Future Fund in partnership with Rethink Ireland. Through this creative traineeship programme, we are delighted to announce the recent graduation of talented students Grace Dunne, Buyisiwe Vilakati and Tetiana Shchukina. Luke O’Reilly and Vera Pigulevskaya also received Inchicore College / IMMA certificates for having completed their three month paid traineeships at IMMA and are continuing on to year two of the Technical Theatre Diploma in Lighting, Sound and Stage Management Level 6 course. The TikTok Digital Future Fund is a €750,000 three-year fund created by Rethink Ireland in partnership with TikTok to enhance the lives of young adults in Ireland. The objective of the Fund is to support non-profit organisations that build digital and/or creative skills. We are also thrilled to announce that IMMA has officially become a registered employer under the SOLAS (An tSeirbhís Oideachais Leanúnaigh agus Scileanna) programme. We are partnering with the National Apprenticeship Office and National College of Ireland to launch our first Recruitment Executive Apprenticeship. Tetiana Shchukina, a recent graduate of Inchicore College and who completed her paid Creative Traineeship at IMMA funded by Rethink Ireland and TikTok was the successful candidate to embark on this three-year apprenticeship journey. This programme will combine workplace learning with formal education and will lead to a QQI Level 8 honours degree in Recruitment Practice. We want to say a special thank you to all graduates for their hard work and dedication. IMMA is delighted to be one of five Irish organisations awarded a grant as part of Ecclesiastical Insurance Office (Ireland) and Benefact Group's ‘Movement for Good’ initiative. At IMMA, this grant will support the first phase of a major research project "Remembering the Future- The Technologies of Peace: Recording History". Led by IMMA, in partnership with IMMA Associate Researcher, Dr Isobel Harbison (Goldsmiths, University of London), the project will consist of a series of interviews to capture the work, stories, and experiences of artist-filmmakers working in Northern Ireland from 1968-1990. These interviews will form part of an oral history archive, safeguarding these valuable narratives for future generations. Additionally, the grant will support public film screenings and events in partnership with the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) and Ulster Museum, engaging both local and cross-border communities in Ireland and Northern Ireland. "We are incredibly grateful to receive this Movement for Good Award, which enables us to preserve the voices and stories of pioneering filmmakers, safeguarding an important part of Northern Ireland’s cultural heritage. This project will help future generations reflect on these historical narratives, while also promoting collaboration and a deeper understanding of art’s role in peacebuilding and reconciliation. Such support is key to developing IMMA's role as a global research centre “ Annie Fletcher, Director (IMMA). Driving the impact of good causes through donating all of its available profits is core to the purpose of specialist insurer Ecclesiastical, and its parent company Benefact Group. Through these grants over half a million euro has been awarded this year to transform projects in Ireland and the UK. Each year, millions of people gather to enjoy festivals, but when they finish a large ecological footprint is usually left behind. But, does it have to be this way? Here’s 5 ways that #EarthRising aims to be a more sustainable festival, 🍃Outdoor Advertising: Have you seen our EARTH RISING posters across Dublin’s City Centre? By teaming up with Micromedia Outdoor's 100% off-grid solar powered billboard (Ireland's first ever) as well as utilizing their digital screens in our outdoor campaign, we are using an advertising channel that boasts the lowest carbon footprint per impression than any other channel ♻️Smart Waste: Using Nifty Bins by Native Events , waste collection is both fun and educational, achieving cleaner waste separation into 7 waste streams. 🍃Eco Fair: In order to trade at EARTH RISING, vendors are required to demonstrate their sustainability practices, such as eliminating or minimising waste in product manufacturing and commit to using compostable packaging. 🪑Circular Furniture: EARTH RISING’s Circular Builds process ensures all materials used in the creation where possible are either reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Materials are kept in flow, allowing them to minimize environmental impact while still delivering aesthetically pleasing and highly effective events & activations. For instance some of the furniture you will see at Earth Rising also featured at Electric Picnic! ⚡Renewable Energy: We’ve all been in the sticky situation of our phone batteries running low, drop by our solar powered recharging station to get the eco-friend power you need! Earth Rising aspires to spark a transformative and thriving climate movement in Ireland. Not only do we offer an incredible programme of speakers, creative works, and engaging workshops, we are also working with Native Events to ensure event production is climate conscious. #EarthRising #IMMA #Dublin #Sustainability #Climate #Eco #Festival Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Annie Fletcher Creative Ireland Dublin City University Research Ireland IPUT Real Estate Dublin The Mary Robinson Centre Purpose Disruptors Lisa Fitzsimons Mary Cremin Sheena Barrett Lucy Durack Melissa Ndakengerwa sophie byrne Siobhán P Mooney
